my house mate and i have gotten together a few times...and we've talked about 'us'. he says that he got out of a long term relationship and doesnt want anything serious, and i completely respect that. but everytime we're together i feel this instant attraction...and it seems mutual. so now he lives with me(i live in a international house) did i mention hes brazilian and hes leaving this summer. now i found out hes seeing this girl. when i asked him he said they were just dating. i really want to get over him, ive tried to be more on the friend zone but i feel that he thinks that i still want something from him. how do i get him to realize i just want to be good friends now? as hard as thats going to be for me. HELP :)|||Do you really want to be done with him? If he changed the relationship with you would you want more? He may be interested but he knows he is going to brazil. He may leave and go to brazil and think about you and return to you. if you really both have the same strong feelings he will realize it. Remain in the friend realm, this way you can remain his friend and keep in touch with him after he leaves for Brazil. Like I said he just might miss you when he is away....or not...but at least you have kept the connection for possibilities with him. If I were you, while he was still here I would go out with different people. One or two things could result from this. You might find someone you like better and it will be easy to see your Brazilian friend leave or...he might realize that he really isn't too happy with you seeing other guys and change the relationship...so either way it would be a good move. |||Sit him down and tell him. Be 100% upfront and honest with him and tell him you feel like he thinks you want to be more, but you don't and that you really want to be friends with him. Simple as that.
