From an early age we are taught to associate "America" with "freedom." Now I believe that america is the freeist country in the world (even though that isn't really saying much, it's worth it for what it is) but did indoctrinational institutions always ride that bandwaggon? I have a feeling that if we went back in time to the 1920's you wouldn't hear the average joe saying "ra ra america freedom ra ra." I don't know though. I don't know if this has been a thing since the united states existed, or a more recent development of PR groups. Anyone know?|||Did someone say the International House of Pancakes? I love their Rooty Tooty Fresh and Fruity breakfast combo. That sounds delicious. I'll have that...Where am I?|||America (the US) has always seen itself as having a divine mission to bring freedom and light to the world. The US has always believed itself to be the most progressive nation in the world, and believed that it has a divine mission to endow the rest of the world with its touted values of liberalism and democracy. After the Second World War, the US emerged as the most powerful nation in the world (because Europe was devastated by the war), and the US was therefore able to wield immense economic and military influence globally. Since then it has been in a position to force its ideological agenda on people all over the world.
