||| Love Them......did you see how peaved he was that McCain out right lied to him......"I can't be on your show, I'm on my way to Washington".....when all along he was still in NY with Katie Couric.|||Oh my god, does Sarah Palin Is My Hero actually think these are supposed to be true?? So these are the type of people voting for Mccain/Palin. And to tom jones, umm Hilary Clinton anyone..... And to Big Daddy, I'd be pretty miffed too.

|||He's a little miffed at the McCain Campaign since McCain called him up 2 hours before the show two nights ago and cancelled his appearance, telling him he needed to go to DC. Then, at the same time did an interview for another network right down the street in NY.

Lying isn't a good trait for a presidential candidate. (or is it?)

#9 made me laugh the most.|||It was pure comedy! I loved it! Brilliant! Remember that comedians love to pick on politicians and McCain screwed over Letterman. It's simple retaliation. McCain's integrity was called into question by blatantly lying. I fell asleep in between the commercial breaks-what was Paris Hilton's point of view?! Lol!!!|||Very amusing, but you should could down from 10 to 1, not up from 1 to 10. And I checked the link so you've got the numbers in reverse order, but the last one is #1.|||Mockery means disrespect. It is a general tone that will be absorbed by the mainstream public. This means death to their campaign.|||Dave is funny again!

Amazingly, a couple of the people here seem tho think this is supposed to be real. No wonder Palin is popular...|||It was quite funny. But if I were any of those ten people, I'd go into hiding. She has a reputation when it comes to people who cross her, after all.|||That's perhaps the funniest top ten list I've ever seen from the Letterman show - usually, it's rather lame.|||That is so funny. I really pictured #8 & #9 explains everything.|||Anyone that doesn't find that funny has no sense of humor, and is an idiot.....or a republican.....whichever word you wanna use, they both mean the same thing.|||Very funny and makes you go hmmmmm.|||They were dead on and very funny |||Hmmm. I think Dave is still a little miffed...|||Hilarious|||Very amusing,I especially like numbers 8 and 10.|||I don't always care for his top ten, but... these are his best !|||Answer...No I Didn't
Comment...I Don't care what side of the aisle your on, THAT was funny right there, I'll tell Ya!!!|||The man is just like most men in the Democratic party he's believes women belong in the kitchen. They have yet to accept the the fact that a woman can take charge and manage any thing a man can.

The more they assault that woman the more women will come over to support her. Most progressive women have already abounded the Democratic party. The man is living in the 18th Century.

|||I wonder if this was driven by his anger over McCain backing out on doing his show the other night ? I thought it was pretty childish of Letterman to act the way he did the other night. After all we are in the middle of a national crisis and he's host a one hour talk show. |||It is funny. But true? I don't think so..... I'm sure she never spent a week in the hospital for putting lipstick on a pit bull.|||I think David Letterman looks like the as s end of a mule and I can't stomach looking at him.|||he puts me to sleep
right before Craig Fergusons show
that I actally watch faithfully
David Letterman needs to shut his mouth

i'm an undecided voter
and agree with
Big Daddys comments
MC Cain has more important issues to take care of right now
than soft peddling
celebs or their wanna be hosts of late night.
he really needs to grow up.
& yes its comedy
but I think David Letterman should of took the mature high road
and chose another top 10
theirs billions of comic ideas out there!
it made him seem foolish
and I think it did!

I've been a picky eater ever since I could remember. I have become more flexible over the years, but certain things like seafood, cheese and spicy foods still make me cringe. For university, I am living in an International House, so I am exposed to a lot of different ethnic foods, and I always feel bad turning them down because I either think or know I won't like it. I tried being 'adventurous' and trying shrimp the other night, and at first I enjoyed the taste, but then the fishiness made me nauseous. Tonight I tried some ramen noodles and the spice made my eyes water. I think it's kind of pathetic how much I can't tolerate so many things. I always try to be adventurous in my lifestyle, and I wish I could learn to love everything. Is it possible to train my brain and my tongue to like all the foods I've told myself I don't like all these years?|||You will never grow to like everything, there are too many tastes.
Learn with small amounts at a time, and the way they are cooked ad prepared.

Even chefs will disagree about foods. Some will criticise the individual tastes whilst others will say you have a little of it all together. People are the same, there are those who will eat a vegetable first, then another and another until they have eaten their food whilst others will have a little of everything.

As long as you are trying it is far better than just dismissing everything else.|||im a rely pick eater too!m y friends say its because my mom never rely cooked all that much as i was growing up. what i did to help was eat a little bit of food that i didnt like with food that i do like i made my self finish the stuff i didnt like first before i could eat the "GOOD STUFF" and every day i would add a little more of "GROSS STUFF" and yea!! NOW im eating a whole bunch of stuff! ( but i still dont like cake lol)|||First not to eat more, eat bit.then next day also eat more than previous day like that continue it for 2-3 weeks.then definitely you can adapt any food but make sure you may not have any allergic reaction what your eating|||why bother.every body has likes and dislikes

I have been working at IHOP International House of Pancakes for almost 2 years, I have been there as a hostess, i like my job and have seen how the waiters and waitresses work. I have talked to my manager about becoming a server however he says i am to young however also he hired a 17 year old about 2 years ago who worked as a waitress and worked for a shorter time than i did.My manager also recently hired a host, he already has more days because of me going to school, and he is even giving him more days on my vacations, I also have a boyfriend we argue out of work however not once have we during work and my manager has known us longer than anybody else, He also said "women don't need to work Its men who should do it, I really want to take care of this I need help. Any advice please i can really use it.|||If you can show, based on your quote, that he's refusing to make you a waitress and giving the host more hours because you're a woman then you have a discrimination claim.

Otherwise, there's not much the law can do for you.|||Time to move on to TGI Fridays!|||Quit Whining!! Your lucky you are still working. Look at all the people who are losing their jobs. So what if the other host has more days because of you going to school,or on vacations. What else is the manager supposed to do, how else is he supposed to cover the shifts you can't work? If you want to be a waitress then tell him to move you or you will find a waitress job elsewhere. Believe me, it won't be that hard for your manager to fill your position. There are many people out there who need jobs.|||i can't say if this is what your manager is doing, but everywhere i have worked when they treat an employee like that, they do it hoping that they will quit. they don't have reason to fire them, so they treat them bad until the quit. your manager may have something against you (not meaning you did anything, but he could be one of those people that just hates people for the smallest thing). is there another manager higher up you could talk to? you could even call corporate and ask for their opinion. in the mean time though, i'd probably try to find a new job where they treat you fairly. good luck|||Find another job.|||It is obvious the manager knows you and in the managers opinion you do not have what it takes to serve in the positon you want. Business people are in business to make money and it is obvious that you don't fit in where you want to be.

    Rick Perry's Rally

The organizers of Perry's rally were from ministries founded by two apostles/prophets of the movement 鈥?The Call, and the International House of Prayer founded by Mike Bickle. Bickle, who led part of Perry's event, has claimed that Oprah Winfrey is a precursor of the Antichrist, and Engle has claimed that gay people are controlled by "demonic spirits." Both have served on the Council of Prophetic Elders initiated by Wagner.|||Yes, I get daily text messages and email updates from Satan dictating my behaviour and there are plans for an iphone app to follow :/|||No, I don't think so. It's just real weird to me. Churches are too obsessed with peoples' sex lives. Sex is just sex. Leave churches out of it. It has little to do with heaven and hell. Back in the biblical times sex has a lot more morality attached to it because it was an issue of making new life. It still is-but not homosexuality.

I think gay is some kind of disorder but not a serious one. Certainly our bodies were not designed for gay activity. Then again most of us probably have some kinds of disorders.|||Yes, Oprah Winfrey is the Precursor to the Anti-Christ because Obama is the Anti-Christ and Gays are controlled by Demonic Spirits who will aid the Anti-Christ.

VOTE RETARDICAN, VOTE FAIR AND BALANCED!|||Oparah is everything Republicans hate, black, is self made, a philathropist, and smart.|||Yes! They lead a cult that recruits people at pride parades, I've saw it with my own eyes!|||That explains why they like to sit in circlejerks, it must be a demonic summoning circle.|||The actual biblical term is "reprobate mind".|||I can't say who will win in 2012, but it will certainly not be lacking entertainment with people like this running.|||why am I not suprised?|||rofl

Every time I write something, I always get a slightly lower grade due to grammar errors. Mainly commas being in the wrong place. The assignment is strictly a 3 paragraph autobiography about our life, or a main event in our life (in my case its a main event). The last paragraph is only 6 sentences, by the way, just so ya know, lol. I know it looks kinda long. Ok, thanks!

Shekinah Mathis: An Autobiography - Moving to Kansas City

Around May of '09 Lou Engle visited our church promoting The Call. During the service he stopped and looked right at my dad, saying he felt like he came to talk specifically to him. Through a series of events following that, my dad took a trip to the International House of Prayer, and was blown away by what he saw; it confirmed so many things God had spoke to him years before.

Towards the end of my 5th grade year, God told us it was time to move on from that church, and that He was doing a new thing. This included leaving my school, and seeing my friends on a regular basis. People I'd gone to school with since preschool. I was really shocked and upset when I heard the news, but I got used to the idea. I started telling my friends goodbye; it became harder and harder for me as the summer approached.

That summer had to be the second worst summer of my life so far. Most of the time, I felt Isolated and alone -- although I kept in contact with my friends, and hung out with them at times it wasn't nearly as much as before. My parents would constantly be at odds, and I didn't understand God's plan behind all this. I was home schooled the following fall, and dad would continue to make trips to IHOP, taking us with him at times. Soon we felt God calling us t move to Kansas City, so in November of that year we made the 13 hour journey by car, and all our stuff and nanny, to Kansas City, MO. The process was stressful, I wasn't excited to be there in the beginning, and we had more trials ahead of us. We've conquered them all though, and now I have awesome friends, am finally back in school, and have encountered God in such a greater way than ever before. I'm so thankful for what God has, and continues to do for us.|||Here you go.

NPR had a really excellent story about just how fringe and nutty the Secessionist’s Saturday Fundiefest is. Just look at this cast of characters.

—John Hagee, a San Antonio evangelist whose endorsement was rejected by John McCain in 2008 because of Hagee’s anti-Catholic statements.

—Mike Bickle, a founder of the International House of Prayer in Kansas City, Mo., who’s called Oprah Winfrey a “pastor of the harlot of Babylon.”

—Alice Patterson, founder of Justice at the Gate, in San Antonio, has written that there is “a demonic structure behind the Democratic Party.”

—And then there’s John Benefiel, head of the Oklahoma-based Heartland Apostolic Prayer Network, who once said this about the Statue of Liberty: “You know where we got it from? French Freemasons. Listen, folks, that is an idol, a demonic idol right there in the middle of New York Harbor.”|||they have been covering it for weeks|||Actually, it WAS French Freemasons (among others) who gave us the Statue of Liberty. Bartholdi was a Freemason. And it's a representation of the Roman Goddess Libertas, so anybody who subscribes to strict, literal interpretation of the Bible would conclude that it's a false idol.|||..... Because our media is corrupt and mostly in the hands of very few.

    Birds of a feather. lol

What was the date and can we watch that online? Got a url?|||So, let me get this straight.

It is your opinion that the Main Stream Media is not doing a good enough job of lambasting conservatives?

is that your point, in a nutshell.?

Are you one of those who think Obama is a conservative? Or at least not quite liberal enough? That would not happen to be because of the fact that the Only things he has done that have worked the way they were supposed to are the policies of Bush's that he has continued, is it? Because I have news for you, ALL Presidents continue SOME of the policies of their predecessor. The fact that those are the only ones working speaks more about Obama's incompetence than to suggest he is any kind of moderate or conservative.|||2008? LOL

whats your experience with your roommate? were they nice ? did you put down no or yes for the sorority/frat?

plus, im nervous about my roommate becuz on the questionaire i put down no for interests in sorority/frat, but im undecided if i want to do the sorority thing ( i have social anxiety but im dyin to make more friends) i havent submitted the application yet though so i could still put down yes..

any advice? thanks|||i will be a freshman there next year and i just applied for housing today. If you live close enough to tour the residence halls you should do so. If not, do a virtual tour online. I did a tour there and decided that Residence Commons was the best fit for me. Its the smaller of the two suite style dorms and it has 2 bathrooms, 1 for each 3 rooms, as well as a shared room and a fridge and microwave. Second choice was parkside as it is the same suite style. If you want to try to be social I would avoid the very quiet building, since that is for students who really just want to study and be quiet. I'm pretty sure they have the option to choose one of the "quiet" suites if you choose to apply for parkside or residence and still want a quieter atmosphere but still be able to be around more social people.

Im with you about being nervous about the roommate, they dont ask very many questions about you to help match you with someone.

I hope this helped a little fellow 49er!

im applying to the a program and i need help editing one of my short answers....

here is the prompt: The UWC mission statement reads, “UWC makes education a force to unite people, nations, and cultures for peace and a sustainable future.” Please cite specific examples of how this mission has applied to your life thus far. (150 words)

this is what i wrote: Two summers ago I traveled to Spain by myself to study there and while I was there I had the pleasure of meeting other teenagers from different countries throughout the world. One moment that will remain stuck in memory forever is the first meeting between an Israeli girl and a Pakistani boy, at the beginning they suffered through the prejudices implanted in their brains from their parents, however since they had mutual friends they were stuck hanging out with each other. After awhile they became friends and ultimately forgot about their previous prejudices and left Spain with an unbelievable bond as forbidden lifelong friends. This moment in time reminds me that the future of the world lies within the youth and although our parents have enemies, those same enemies can end up being our best friends. This moment reminds me about the UWC mission statement because one common school, the International House in Madrid and one common goal brought together 2 teens from warring nations together and bridged the gaps to create a peace between them.|||edit it: Two summers ago, I travelled to Spain by myself to study. I have been working at IHOP International House of Pancakes for almost 2 years, I have been there as a hostess, i like my job and have seen how thw waiters and waitresses work. I have talked to my manager about becoming however he says i am to young however also he hired a 17 year old about 2 years ago who worked as a waitress and worked for a shorter time than i did.My manager also recently hired a host, he already has more days because of me going to school, and he is even giving him more days on my vacations, I also have a boyfriend we argue out of work however not once have we during work and my manager has known us longer than anybody else, He also said "women don't need to work Its men who should do it, I really want to take care of this I need help. Any advice please i can really use it.|||If you speak like you type, you need to work on your verbal communication skills, and that could very well be one reason you haven't gotten the position you want.
Also, I can tell you from personal experience that watching boyfriends and girlfriends make goo goo eyes at each other at work is extremely annoying to coworkers.
So before you file a complaint, I suggest you talk things over with your parents or a coworker. They might mention something you don't see, which could help you be a better worker not only at IHOP but anywhere you go.|||But women do need to work. File a complaint to your local labor board. By law if you file a complaint he can not fire you out of retaliation.|||Well first you question is very confusing.

second I don't know the law where you are but you may very well be too young, and he may have gotten in trouble for hiring this other young person.

third if your boss has been sexist you need to talk to the person above their head and work from there.

the other person is getting more shifts because they can work more hours.|||You could go to your State Human Resources Office (employment)
and file a complaint. Tell them what he has done, especially the
women don't need to work remark.
But in the long run it probably won't get you very far, but it might.
Other wise quit. You're young, go find a better job.|||Restaurant work is difficult work no matter how yu look at it --- and the Managers are almost always D I F F I C U L T --- mostly cuz itzza Hella complicated JOB they have to deal w/ every personality in the place -that's mind boggling. Move to another classier restaurant asap --- yir experience shood QUALIFY yu for another job doing the same thing QUIK. The sooner yu leave ON GOOD TERMS the better. If your manager really misses yu he will really be glad to hire yu back and agree more to yir wishes after yuuv bin gone awhile and given him a chance to KNO what he'ez missing. On the other hand, HOPEFULLY YOUR NEW JOB will BE the improovement yir wishing for. Keep changing jobs til yu git what yu want. YOUR doing all the HARD PART yu deserve to have it go as would like to be treated.|||Sounds like you are holding down the fort to me, very nice!|||By law your employer can not discriminate against you by race, gender, or disability. You have the right to move up in your line of work with due experience. As long as you qualify in terms of how good a job you do, you cannot be held back from promotion. You could go to the workforce center in your area and file a complaint against sexual discrimination regarding your position in the workplace, or you could get another job. Now, I said: "get another job" because if you just quit and can't find another job, you are left without income. Apply for other jobs you are interested in while you are working the job you currently hold. Notify your current employer of your new job once you are ensured of it. This is called giving your: "two weeks notice". It is two weeks in advance before you quit so your employer will have time to find someone to fill your position before you leave. Following those steps when/if you decide to get a new job will give your employer more respect towards you for your consideration and will allow you to use that work experience as a good reference. Sorry this was so long, but I hope it helps.|||~wow! so much drama at the IHOP! whoever knew all this was going on while I am enjoying my pancakes! You have 2 years experience as a waitress. The best and greatest site to check on on the net is the Hong Kong Tourist Authority. They check out everything themselves. If you pass their inspections then you get promoted by the Authority. Lots of shops have their logo in the window and if you have any complaints about what you have brought, then just threatening to go to the Authority changes attitudes. I had no problems at all with any thing in HK, though. Firmly recommend Food Street , especially if you are wanting to try all sorts of food

I could go on for hours:) It is a fantastic place|||Place to chill out at night, Lan Kwai Fong in Central. In this case, you should be staying at the Cosmo Hotel on Sheung Wan. At least you can just take a taxi back to the hotel after your night out.

my house mate and i have gotten together a few times...and we've talked about 'us'. he says that he got out of a long term relationship and doesnt want anything serious, and i completely respect that. but everytime we're together i feel this instant attraction...and it seems mutual. so now he lives with me(i live in a international house) did i mention hes brazilian and hes leaving this summer. now i found out hes seeing this girl. when i asked him he said they were just dating. i really want to get over him, ive tried to be more on the friend zone but i feel that he thinks that i still want something from him. how do i get him to realize i just want to be good friends now? as hard as thats going to be for me. HELP :)|||Do you really want to be done with him? If he changed the relationship with you would you want more? He may be interested but he knows he is going to brazil. He may leave and go to brazil and think about you and return to you. if you really both have the same strong feelings he will realize it. Remain in the friend realm, this way you can remain his friend and keep in touch with him after he leaves for Brazil. Like I said he just might miss you when he is away....or not...but at least you have kept the connection for possibilities with him. If I were you, while he was still here I would go out with different people. One or two things could result from this. You might find someone you like better and it will be easy to see your Brazilian friend leave or...he might realize that he really isn't too happy with you seeing other guys and change the relationship...so either way it would be a good move. |||Sit him down and tell him. Be 100% upfront and honest with him and tell him you feel like he thinks you want to be more, but you don't and that you really want to be friends with him. Simple as that. What job pays a decent amount and gives a person the freedom to work from anywhere?

I see all these people on International House Hunters moving to the Caribbean and continuing their work in the states from their homes the new country...how are they doing that?!?
I'm willing to get whatever training, degrees, etc... that I need to get the job that allows me to do something like that, but I need to know what to do/what steps I need to take!

I live in the US right now (which I know makes it harder than if I were in the UK or something), but would like to live in Spain. (but it doesn' t have to be Spain...we also like Costa Rica, and some parts of Mexico) Spain is just at the top of the list.

I would also be happy living between countries...being in the other country for a percentage of the year, but maintaining residence here in the states.

Anyone know how to do it?|||You could open or buy a bar/restaurant that is only open seasonally. That way you are in the location of your choice during the time that everyone wants to be there. I'm currently in college and like most of my classmates I never considered doing anything else, mostly because it was what I assumed everyone does after high school.

After meeting many international students (I dormed in an international house my freshman year) I began to see that many of them were older than most US college students. From what I have been reading, many EU students don't graduate university until 25 or 26, while US students graduate around 21/22, and in the summers are either interning somewhere or working.

Why such an age difference? Is this why international students perceive US citizens as too capitalistic and fast paced? I don't understand why things seem to be so rushed in our schooling system. Of course I hear stories of a people taking a semester off, but I don't know anyone who takes a gap year or starts to work straight out of highschool.

So my question is how do international students perceive US students? and why the big age difference in graduating from university? Rev. Lou Engle thinks so:

"Prayer and preaching the gospel are the church's primary calling, he said. "But to say don't get involved in those high places [of government] is actually allowing our archenemy Satan to put his own people in those high places, where spiritual powers can actually control societies and release laws that actually legalize systemic evil," Engle added"

and the following Christian leaders have endorsed his "TheCall" events:

"The prayer event has been endorsed by a cross-section of Christian leaders from former Arizona Gov. “Hello…Red... anybody in there?” Noah says, whispering in my ear.
I let out an annoyed groan. I hate it when he calls me Red. It sounds so manly. He loves making fun of my red hair and burnt umber skin. When he’s not calling me Red he’s calling me Brown Cherry or Cherry for short.
“She’s alive! It’s a miracle!” he screams almost at the top of his lungs, throwing his arms above his head. My ears ring painfully from his loud shout which echoed through the proscenium.
I felt my temperature rise. “Yeah I’m alive but you won’t be if you don’t let me sleep.”
“Growl, I like my women feisty.” He teases.
“What do you want?” I look at the clock on the wall behind me. “The show doesn’t start until this evening and it’s not even past noon. Walkthroughs don’t even start until one.” I bury my head back into my pillow.
“I wanted to buy you breakfast. You’ve been working really hard and I think you deserve it. Money troubles?”
I look up at him, surprised. Noah knows me all too well. The electric got turned off in my apartment again and it was another late night in the theatre. Thought I might spend the night. Besides its warmer here than it is at home and I already had a cot laid out from last time.
“Yeah. What are you doing here so early? How’d you know I’d be here?”
“Just a hunch, besides, I could hear you snoring from the outside the Civic Center.” He says jokingly. “Where does all your money go? You work nonstop. You’re too young to be working yourself like this. You should be out partying and doing all the other things teenagers do.”
Ugh. Why is he lecturing to me? I frown at him. Ignoring his question, I sit up and try to change the subject. “You know boss doesn’t really like people here when he’s not around?”
“Look who’s talking.” Noah crosses his arms in a sassy fashion.
“He trusts me.” I let out a smart grin.
He grins back, giving me a hand to get up. “That’s because you’re a kiss ***.”
“Whatever, I don’t even kiss my own ***.”
As he pulls me on my feet I look around the area where I slept. It looks and feels so creepy backstage, especially at night when you’re alone. No wonder I was having nightmares.
“I bought you some clean clothes too. Go get cleaned up in the sink before we go. You look dreadful.”
“Thanks, you’re so polite.” I give him a sarcastic smile.
    “I try.” He smiles back.
At the International House of Pancakes Noah orders two smiley face pancakes and two cups of coffee. Noah is such a goof but a great friend. He’s been there for ever since I started working at the Civic Center four years ago. I had such a passion for theatre and stagecraft that I worked for free because I was too young to get a pay check or join the union. Of course Mr.Donn, my boss, gave me all the worst possible jobs. He thought I was just a dumb girl and that i would get hurt. Noah had the same thought so he would watch me from a far. Whenever I made a mistake Noah, when no one was looking, would show me where I messed up and even give me a hand, selflessly risking his job. Before too long Mr.Donn really grew a liking to me.
“Here’s your breakfast.” The waitress says handing us our pancakes. “Hope you enjoy.” She gives Noah the final smile and a wink before exciting. Noah watches her from behind until she disappears behind the counter. I raise an eyebrow at him when he looks back at me from across the table.
“What? She’s cute. I’d tap that.”
    “Your such a pig.”
    “No, I’m just honest.”
Noah usually gets that kind of attention. Noah is in his early twenties. He’s tall and slightly built from working with heavy equipment.. His black hair curls a lot when it gets too long so he usually keeps it short, about two inches. He has a huge bright Aztec tattoo that covers his entire left arm and half of his neck. His eyes are a light brown and he wears wooden framed glasses. Judging by his style and appearance, to me he looks like a punk retro sexual.
“Thanks again…for everything.” I say to him before sticking my fork into anything.
“You’re welcome.” he says with a grin. “Finally today is the big day. Hopefully the critics will appreciate this version of “The Wall,” and hopefully we will do Pink Floyd some justice.” He says with slight worry in his voice.
“Yeah me too but we should stay confident. No going back now.” I give him a smile of reassurance.
When we finished Noah left a big tip and his phone number. It’s almost time to walk back to the Civic Center.|||I have read it & I'll be honest it's not really good. I was bored.

You seem like a good writer. Good luck with the rest.|||I am going to be honest with you and tell you the truth like the other answerers have not done. I'm a second year university student at the University of California, San Diego. Lately, I've been trying to make a big effort to get more involved in the University community, but I keep getting rejected from all the organizations I try to join. Last spring, I rushed for a fraternity I did not get a bid for. I thought I was socializing well and the brothers liked me, but I guess I was wrong about that. Then earlier this year, I tried out for a dance team, I didn't do very well at the audition, so I'm not surprised that I didn't make it. Even more recently I applied for a position as the marketing chair for a new organization which has goals to do community work in Africa and India. I really thought I'd get this position because I am well qualified and had a marketing internship over the summer. After that I applied to live in my school's international house, where foreign exchange students and university students live together in an apartment to give both parties a cultural experience. I thought my application essays were pretty strong, and I genuinely felt I had a lot to offer the place. I just got my rejection email right now, and this is really starting to bother me. I've gotten rejected by four organizations in a row. I'm not sure what I need to change for this to start getting better. Can anyone relate to this or have any advice.|||It might be a good idea to set smaller goals. Join some groups that you definitely know you will be able to get into. Try to join groups that do not require an application process. You may also want to look outside of the university for things in your local community to join. I hope you will find something that suits you well. Good Luck.

If the moon made my doodoo smell like pancakes, would I die and go to IHOP (that's International House Of Pancakes, for you foreigners)?
Because the other day I smelled doodoo in my pancakes and it was a full moon and I was playing with my black cat and reading stupid satanic books and practicing voodoo on my pancakes...all at the same time.

so...will I die and go to IHOP??

Or will IHOP die and go to me??

Or some other cosmic phenomena??|||u and IHOP will die and go to hell.......................wakakakkakaka

  • Girls, how come most of you consider it to be so romantic that Tony Parker took Eva Longoria to IHOP (International House of Pancakes) for their first date, and yet he has tons of money?

However, when the average guy takes a girl to IHOP or Denny's for a date, most women will call him cheap; inconsiderate; or unthoughtful and boring.

My question is why does Tony Parker get a pass for taking Eva Longoria to IHOP, with most of you giving him the thumbs-ups, while you criticize the average guy who is really trying for doing the exact same thing in most cases?

This seems like a double-standard and kind of hypocritcal. Am I wrong or what? Also, the same girls who are so critical of average guys seem to spend more time at home alone complaining and wishing for a date, than being content to spend time with the opposite sex. In my opinion, most of you should be flattered that a guy would be interested enough in you to make an honest effort to ask for a date. Yet, it's not so!|||Hmm, am I technically not allowed to answer this since I don't think like an average girl? :)

I would think it's perfectly fine for a guy to take a girl out to a place that is informal and relaxed like IHOP for a first date. Of course, I'm not exactly a girl who jumps up & down at the chance to dress up in uncomfortable shoes and a hoochy dress to go eat overpriced food with a bunch of stuffy people. (shrug) As long as the place was comfortable, what's the big deal? I mean, obviously I'd feel a little strange if the guy took me to a scary little cafe that had bullet holes in the window and juice all over the floor.. and screaming kids everywhere... but IHOP has always been nice when I've gone.

On my first date with the guy I'm still with (it's been over 3 years), we met at the Boardwalk and walked to Wendy's and shared some fries. We've never been to a "formal" restaurant (unless you count Cheesecake Factory, but we went in jeans & t-shirts and didn't order much) and neither of us have any real desire to. We've done fast food, we've made late-night grocery runs, we occasionally do places like Friendly's. Just because we don't go to super-expensive restaurants doesn't mean we are "cheap." We just like to spend that money that WOULD have gone towards overpriced food on things like video games or the electric bill. You never know when you'll need electricity!

Anyway. Since you're asking about a rich couple... yeah, it seems a little... odd. The guy makes millions of dollars, and yet he's eatin' with us lower & middle class folk! Maybe they really like pancakes.

Jenn|||Personally, i don't care where a guy takes a girl on a date as long as it's reasonable. i would love to go to Denny's on a date. but i would also like to go to Red lobster on a date to. it doesn't matter where u go for a date it's who ur with that's important.|||Yes i think the same way,i wouldn't care if a guy took me to Denny's pr ihop or McDonald's i wouldn't care is the guy that is more important not the place that the guy takes you to.|||anywheres good|||Hmmm, if you think that only girls are unappreciative of guys, look at my question!!!

    http://answers.yahoo.com/question/;_ylc=鈥?/a>

I think it's just because, because they have so much money and can have all they want and go to just ANY super expensive and fancy place, this is something rather unusual and that's the kind of things you do on these special occasions (unusual)....... it's special for them, it wouldn't be for an average couple. So that's why it's nice for them, and for a regular girl a dinner at a fancy place would be more like it. To each their own, I would be happy to go to a date at IHOP cuz I love pancakes!|||Because their dreamers they want that rich fella, which is crap because it makes them wish for a partner that doesnt really exsist. And because males dont really express why they are taking her to that particular place, if you tell them that there is a particular reason you chose that place or what it means to you then. It would mean ever so much to them, because it is something special - so speak up and tell them why it is special.|||A woman needs to feel that a man is making a real effort to catch her attention. When a wealthy man dates a wealthy woman, money is usually not the issue unless one or both of them have money insecurity issues.
I'm SURE he's impressing her on some other level. Believe it.
If I was really into a guy I wouldn't care where he took me, but I would take issue if he could afford better and didn't take me somewhere nice from time to time because it shows that I'm worth it to him. Also, most guys, sound phony and cheap when they complain. Suck it up. If you want a quality woman, you need to treat her like it. If you don't like the way women are that you're coming across, start fishing in another lake.|||it is totally a double standard! for my first date with a new guy i would love if he took me to Denny's. i h8 the fancy restaurants because i feel as though the guy is trying way to hard to make a good first impression. u want someone that u can go anywhere with a still have the time of ur life just because ur with him. the location doesn't matter. i think the cheaper the better that way u can really see who and what the guy really is =D|||I really dont care what celebrities do to each-other..

I went to place called International House of Prayer (IHOP) in Kansas City and received a prophetic prayer. Some of the things that she prayed for me was true and other ones, I am not sure. One of the thing that the lady prayed for me really happended in my past. Therefore if she prayed for me about my future, is that going to happen? do i need to believe in prophetic prayers? Is prophetic prayer really from God? is that what God want me to do? what if I dont know? have you received prophetic prayer before? what happend? any good answer?|||Yes I do believe in prophetic prayers. Prophetic prayers come from God.

Usually spiritual leaders are sensitive to God and they hear Him and listen to Him. They too at times knows what is going on in your life, it is called discernments.

However, not all prophets are true believers of God. You have the Holy Spirit in you if you're a believer, therefore, you can feel it. So, you will be able to know if the person is really a true prophet and you will know if the prophetic prayers are true.|||yes!! i have many times i would say in my life time i have been prophesied over maybe 9,10 time ALL SAYING THE SAME THING very cool!.but you have to be very careful about who is praying for you no joke. one of the most Powerful prophets i know of and have heard in person is Bob Jones
or go to this web site http://www.streamsacademy.com/index.php?鈥?/a>
this guy his name is John Paul Jackson i believe he

There is a place called the International House of Prayer in Kansas city(www.ihop.org),i'm a senior in highschool, and i feel that god has called me to preach, i nko my one purpose in life is to know god and to find out who he really is, to be in his presence, prophecied i've recieve all are similar in that i'm called to huge leadership and to preach, that i have the heart of david and a warrior, at Ihop there are a number of schools, they may not be acredited, but the purpose of a school si not in the degree but the experience that you had, and how it will help you carry your life out. I feel that i am supposed to take the apostolic preaching program,(its word for word with ym prophecies basically)but my parents (also christian)have a college fund that can only be used at an acredited school, i don't want to hurt them, but i also want to complete and fully seek gods will. am i still ni gods will and i seek him, even if my parents don't agree?please pray i have no more room to continue.|||Some times to know God's will we need to put out a fleece. But if you should do this don't let anyone know what your fleece is. Do not tell anyone because Satan can hear you and can mess with your fleece so you get a wrong interpretation. Keep it to yourself and make it something that only God could answer.

Example: when my friend was thinking about getting married, she wanted to make sure the man she had chosen was God's choice for her. So in her silent prayer she told God that if he was the man for her, to let someone come to her house and offer to buy it even though it was not for sale, nor had she advertised it. Two weeks later someone knocked on her door and asked if she would be willing to sale her home.|||yes, sometimes you have to go for what you know, you feel me..You have to do what you know God is leading :you" to do, not the plans your parents have for you. But make sure you stay in prayer before God to lead and guide your every step and open the doors that should be opened for you..and close the ones that aren't..I pray that He leads you and that you have much success in your ministry to others..God Bless|||ugh . . . teenage Christians.
Yuck.|||I am Catholic, and I believe you know the answer. Open yourself to your intuition. Sit in prayer and let the answer come to you.|||I think you need to do some serious praying about this. Sometimes we are called to preach or minister, but in different ways. Can you enter into ministry using a college degree in a different capacity (different line of work)? Just be open to the holy spirit's leading on this. Often when we feel we need to minister, we think we only can be a preacher or a missionary, but often God may have other plans. Besides, another option is to pursue a traditional degree and take Bible classes and ministry preparation classes on the side.

Also, don't forget that there are many, many accredited Christian schools out there. Perhaps your church pastor has some ideas on some schools you can look at that can prepare you for ministry while attending an accredited school.

Just do some praying that God will show you a clear path.|||pray, pray , pray! ask your parents to pray with you. this is a tough question! bc your suppose to respect your parents, at the same time i feel it is more important to follow God. do you think your parents are more concerned with your walk with the Lord or their loss of college fund. i mean no disrespect in saying that! but i don't want you to let ANYTHING stand between you and God. you are the one who will stand b4 Him on judgment day, not your parents. well they will too but not for your decisions, lol. you know what i mean. but if you are sure that God has called you to do something, my suggestion is to do it! He knows the big picture. we don't, so thats why we have to trust Him! but b4 you do anything pray with your parents! im sure they want wants best for you too!|||If God is calling you to preach I would follow God's calling. Your parents will understand that as Christians. Trust in God. The little voice inside that knows the answer. I will pray for you email me your name.

WHY oh WHY are so many saying Sen. Obama has never accomplished anything OR the other outragous claim that he has NO EXPERINCE!!!!

    LIARS....all LIARS!!!

    As to Accomplishments:

FACTS: Sen Obama raised on his own, 3 gold fish. He also achived the Big-tigger badge in cub scouts at 11 years old. He has also scored 2300 points on donky-kong the video game.

Sadly most people don't know this.

    EXPERIENCE:

the REAL FACTS: Sen. Obama has "experinced" many thing in his life, including his forgien policy experience...he has recieved the 3 star award for eating over 1000 times at the "International House of Pancakes"

THIS my friends is experience & accomplisments we can turn to in a time of crisis.|||Thanks for enlightening us...here's more.

    1. He successfully cleared two tables at his church pot-luck last january.

    2. He finally finished the "communist manifesto, by Karl Marx"...even though it was the taped version

    3. He sliced and diced a watermelon all by his loneseome!!! 3 Stars for this feat!|||heres some more

Obama passed legislation with Republican Senator Jim Talent to give gas stations a tax credit for installing E85 ethanol refueling pumps. The tax credit covers 30 percent of the costs of switching one or more traditional petroleum pumps to E85, which is an 85 percent ethanol/15 percent gasoline blend.

-After a number of inmates on death row were found innocent, Senator Obama worked with law enforcement officials to require the videotaping of interrogations and confessions in all capital cases.

-His first law was passed with Republican Tom Coburn, a measure to rebuild trust in government by allowing every American to go online and see how and where every dime of their tax dollars is spent.

-Obama created the Illinois Earned Income Tax Credit for low-income working families in 2000 and successfully sponsored a measure to make the credit permanent in 2003. The law offered about $105 million in tax relief over three years.

-Obama joined forces with former U.S. Sen. Paul Simon (D-IL) to pass the toughest campaign finance law in Illinois history. The legislation banned the personal use of campaign money by Illinois legislators and banned gifts from lobbyists. Before the law was passed, one organization ranked Illinois worst among 50 states for its campaign finance regulations.

-As a member of the Veterans' Affairs Committee, Senator Obama has fought to help Illinois veterans get the disability pay they were promised, while working to prepare the VA for the return of the thousands of veterans who will need care after Iraq and Afghanistan.

-He traveled to Russia with Republican Dick Lugar to begin a new generation of non-proliferation efforts designed to find and secure deadly weapons around the world.

-Obama has been a leading advocate for protecting the right to vote, helping to reauthorize the Voting Rights Act and leading the opposition against discriminatory barriers to voting.

    - In the U.S. Senate, Obama introduced the STOP FRAUD Act to increase penalties for mortgage fraud and provide more protections for low-income homebuyers, well before the current subprime crisis began.

-Obama sponsored legislation to combat predatory payday loans, and he also was credited with lobbied the state to more closely regulate some of the most egregious predatory lending practices.

-Barack Obama introduced the Patriot Employer Act of 2007 to provide a tax credit to companies that maintain or increase the number of full-time workers in America relative to those outside the US; maintain their corporate headquarters in America; pay decent wages; prepare workers for retirement; provide health insurance; and support employees who serve in the military.

-Obama worked to pass a number of laws in Illinois and Washington to improve the health of women. His accomplishments include creating a task force on cervical cancer, providing greater access to breast and cervical cancer screenings, and helping improve prenatal and premature birth services.

-Obama has introduced and helped pass bipartisan legislation to limit the abuse of no-bid federal contracts.

-Obama and Senator Feingold (D-WI) took on both parties and proposed ethics legislation that was described as the "gold standard" for reform. It was because of their leadership that ending subsidized corporate jet travel, mandating disclosure of lobbyists' bundling of contributions, and enacting strong new restrictions of lobbyist-sponsored trips became part of the final ethics bill that was signed into law.|||http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/02/19鈥?/a>

YOU GOT TO SEE THIS ABOUT HIS EXPERIENCE....|||Because haters hear & see what they want.|||He has as much experience as Rodham Clinton|||Lol, very good!|||obama has a lot of experience.

Who really wants another Bush, and more war.. and than say aww i wish the troops were back.

Haha.. so funny .. Republicans these days|||LMFAO!!!!|||I think the media has really decieved people from looking at the facts which are that Obama is not just an empty suit but he is a Senator from Illinois with one of the most effective records in his brief period of time in the Senate. In addition to Johnathan's specific list about Obama's accomplishments as a Senator, Obama has also sponsored change in his community and at the local level in Illinois (specifically Chicago). Both he and Senator Clinton are junior senators with good political experience. Obama is a firm candidate who stands a good chance at becoming president of the United States not solely on the fact that he inspires people but that his record proves that he can make change if elected President of the United States.|||Jonathon's list is the biggest bunch of RESUME PADDING possible - laughable in Washington. That's the kind of crap that everyone is talking about when they say that Obama has done NOTHING.
--Anyone can "introduce" a bill - thousand of stupid bills never get passed.
--Member of Congress all "travel" to foreign countries to "begin talks" - they are called "junkets" at taxpayer expense.
--All politicians "fight for" legislation that the special interests that fund their campaigns want them to push through.
--Obama was "assigned" to work on the Ethics bill by the Democratic leadership. They make new Senators without experience work on simple stuff so they learn the basics.

Wake up! OBAMA is barely qualified to work FOR the President, much less BE the President.|||Because he HAS NONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HE HAS NEVER HAD ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE GOVERNMENT!!!!!!!!!|||That's funny. It's because he's the youngest candidate and he actually has little to no experience.

Upon moving into the International House at my university this semester, I met a young Masters student from Norway. I had never met a Scandinavian before and, sadly, tend to romanticize things way too much (particularly foreign men). We spent a good part of the Welcome Week discussing all manner of topics...and then I was in his room one night, one thing led to another, and we slept together. I told him I wanted to wait and warned him beforehand that I get emotionally attached but he pushed and I gave in. Afterwards, we cuddled and he starts talking about how I should let him know if our relationship is moving too fast or too slow and that he never wants to hurt me or our friendship. Then, we sleep together again. The next day, he tells me that he wants no commitment and has never, in fact, had a relationship because he likes to 'keep his options open' Mind you, this guy is 27. I asked him if this was due to a tragic experience in the past or perhaps he has not found the right woman--he said that nothing triggered it, it is just how he is. He has traveled all over Russia, sleeping with who knows what and says that most girls there are just gold diggers...okay, my father is a physician; I have no use for this guy's money. Unfortunately, rejection only makes my lust stronger and so, we continued hooking up semi-periodically for the next month (he lives across the hall from me). Then, one day after I sent him a suggestive text message, he messages me on Facebook and says that we should stop 'being lovers' because I am becoming emotionally attached. He said that 'he simply does not want a sexual or romantic relationship with me, just like he doesn't want one with 99.9% of the people he meets, and it just took him a bit to figure it out in our case.' I think the real issue was that, as he is big on 'spontaneity', any time I try to schedule a hook-up, he finds it mundane and expected (in the beginning, he had suggested that we meet every week, but men change their mind faster than you can blink).
I then explained to him that any attraction I had to him was purely physical (this was actually true). So a month later, we encounter each other in the hall at 1 am and he invites me in...and we end up at it again...I asked him why, as he'd said he didn't want to be lovers anymore and he just said that he was 'still attracted to me'. We slept together one time after that, but in retrospect, I allowed him to contact me after he told me we should stop seeing each other, I let him come to me. Still, I feel rotten because every time we were together, he would not reciprocate certain pleasure acts I'd perform (even though he told me he does perform them on some women), and he had a fascination with anal play...something just felt creepy but I was not fully satisfied unless we were together. Every session, I was feeling less and less respect until I finally broke it off last week, and stated that I heard him speaking with a girl in his room and this did not bother me as much as it once would have (I am a possessive partner). I then informed him that I may be finally able to 'stop wasting my time on him', as he put it.
At first, I didn't understand why he would keep contacting me if he wanted me 'off his tail', so to speak. I am aware that I allowed myself to be used...but i suppose that I was also using him to some extent. This is a guy with whom I cannot have a normal conversation...only debates or the receiving end of his criticism. He also informed me that he does not answer when his parents call him from home because they call at the same hour every day and that he finds this 'mundane'. I realize that he has little emotional capacity, but I am just wondering if anyone else has met a similar type of character? I can honestly say that he is the oddest I have yet encountered...

P.s. Kudos if you managed to read this entire passage. : )|||My ex was like this guy. Except he had the gift of gab so somehow everything managed to have a positive spin to it. Seriously the guy is a douche and needs to get off his high horse. Seriously no one cares about how many women his been with or what he finds "mundane". His so typically atypical its a joke. His clearly playing into the whole "foreign guy experience". If he truly is like the guy he pretends to be then he wouldn't have contacted you again after he said he was done with you. I hope your done with him and never give him the time of day again. You deserve so much better than what that *** hole would ever dream of giving you.|||Yeeeaahh, it definitely sounds like he has problems. It sucks that you got so mixed up with him, but shiznit just seems to happen that way I guess. Hopefully this is just a stage (early mid-life crisis maybe?) and he'll get over it someday. From reading that he sleeps around a lot, I just hope y'all used protection so that you don't catch anything.|||Thanks, I read the entire passage.

Whilst I have not been in this situation, I know the kind of person you're talking about. It's a European thing, trust me. I was born in Europe and lived there for the first few years of my life, until I was 4, when I moved to Australia. I have lived here ever since but I go home for 8 weeks at the end of every year. Because I've lived in Australia, when I go to Europe I notice the difference with the guys there. A lot of them are exactly the way you've described. Especially Scandanavians. I don't know why, but all of the Scandanavians I have ever met have been like that. They seem cold, distant and unemotional. I have also encountered a lot of Dutch guys who are like this. So I guess it's localized within Northern and North-Western Europe. Those guys are really weird and a lot of them are extremely perverted and have a really dark sense of humor. Idk I even see it on youtube. But what can you do? Some people are just weird.

14 and going to be a bridesmaid?
first off, im not obsessiong over this or "worried"...if im 14 and was asked to be a bridesmaid, would i be junior or a normal adult one? i havnt even met the bride yet, since its my brothers fiance and they live like 6 states away. i already love her and she loves me but im not sure if shes going to think im immature or not to be an adult one. i dont want to be a junior bridesmaid, they lead the bridal procession or whatever? please tell me what they do and where they stand etc. iv been told i act 16/look 16. im not immature at all, only towards my brother, well cus i love him and miss him. they havnt even kissed yet, theyve been datind for lik 4 months and im so proud of him for being as pure as possible with her. they in school at kansas city for media apprenticeship, hes 20 and shes 23. thanks. websites wud be helpful too :D

    Additional Details
i honestly cant belive someone would curse their relationship as bad as u guys did. i KNOW they will be together for years and years. my pastor knew his gf for 3 weeks before they married. they still together and now theyre lik 70. IHOP (international house of prayer) is an amazing miracle. i wasnt saying i was going to try to be an adult. i dont remember writing it anywhere in this question.

i have size 34 d boobs so i dont think ill fit in little kid dresses :)|||you'll be able to fit into regular bridesmaid's dresses, they just may have to be altered- which is no big deal. Don't worry, be yourself, and you sound very mature, so I don't think you have to worry about the bride thinking you're immature. It's very sweet of you to care so much =)|||you're welcome! =)

What ever yes its an honer to be asked Iv been a few my self .Once my boyfriend at the time sister asked me to be Maid of honer That was a really big deal Especially when she had 6 sisters Just have fun ,don't catch the bouquet YOUR WAY TO YOUNG!|||Id say your no longer a junior bride when you stop wearing kiddie clothes. Either way when ive seen it done, they've still had an escort. But Id talk to your new SIL to be about the details. Also I think you might be thinking of a junior bride- not a junior bridesmaid- they're totally different. :-)

Oh a shout out to Kansas City- my home town!!!!|||im surprised someone like you who thinks knowing someone 4 months and then marrying them is a good idea would actually put your bra size on the internet|||your age doesn't matter, your probably going to be an adult bridesmaid. your only a junior bridesmaid if your like under 10 but since your 14 your going to be an adult bridesmaid. good luck

P.S you should ask your brother and soon to be sister in law too. it's there wedding so see what THEY want|||Oh honey, you sound very mature! I doubt she will think anything of it. I am pretty sure you are probably an adult bridesmaid if she didn't specify which one. Don't worry! She will tell you where to stand and whatnot and what to do. :) That is what rehearsals are for! Yay!

But honestly, it really doesn't matter if a couple is together for 10 days or 10 years before they get married, if God says it is right, it is.

I pray they have a happy and truly blessed marriage.

Good luck! And stop stressing so much!!! Lol.|||You need to talk to your brother's fiancee about her plans for the wedding. Each bride is different, and will have different ideas for her particular wedding. SHE is the one who will decide what you will wear, and what you will do.

I had a junior bridesmaid (13) and she wore the same dress as the rest of my bridesmaids, other than my matron of honor. The ONLY difference was that her gloves were the short variety, and the others had the elbow-length ones.

Being a bridesmaid is an honor, don't think about what you want, think about how you can help make this a special day for your brother and his new bride, which is how you will show your maturity. Below are some links with advice and duties of a junior bridesmaid.

  • Scene: International House Of Pancakes
Two tables pushed together in the middle of a busy morning rush.
A gaggle of poets are having an animated discussion.

Cheese: I can’t believe this sh**hole doesn’t have real maple syrup...

Dave: There’s maple syrup right in front of you!

Cheese: That’s not maple syrup, dummy. That’s maple-flavored corn syrup.

Dave: (laughing with derision, spitting bits of pancake) Oh, now I’ve heard everything. Hey Ma! Cheese is mocking the syrup!

Ma: I suppose he’s not happy with his margarine, either? What’s with you, Cheesy, you some kinda fancy-boy?

Cheese: (slowly shakes head, mutters to himself, speaks up) No, Ma, I just happen to like real maple syrup. Sorry I brought it up.

Yidiot: He likes his coffee filtered through French undies. He told me as much.

Schultzie: Before or after he wears ‘em?

    Doe: While.

Ma: He sent me a pair!

BG: Me too! I sent them to the FBI.

Waitress: (chewing gum, mercifully interrupts conversation) How is everything, here?

Dave: Cheesy doesn’t like the syrup!

Cheese: (panicked) No, no! It’s fine. He’s just joking. It’s all good...(gives dave dirty look)

Waitress: (to cheese, smacking gum loudly) What’rya, some kinda fancy-boy?

Cheese: No, Please...I’m fine. Thanks. (mumbles something inaudible)

Waitress: (hand on hip, with attitude) Are you copping an attitude with me?

(Dave is instantly on his feet. In a flash, he is next to the waitress. His arm finds it’s way smoothly around her waist, and he gently steers her to the breakfast-bar, where he can be heard speaking in hushed and soothing tones.)

CBOLAR: Nice job, Cheese; anger the waitress.

Schultzie: Dang it! I wanted more bacon! (reaches, takes a piece off dave’s plate)

Cheese: Pig is a filthy animal.

Nancy: (on her laptop) Speaking of filthy animals, check out this poem from overseas!

    BG: (spits her coffee) Nancy!

Doe: Schultzie, Dave is gonna kill you...

Schultzie: (defiant, ripping bacon with his teeth) He ain’t gonna do sh**!

Cheese: I’m just sayin’, pig is a filthy animal...

Yidiot: (exasperated) Yes, yes, we all saw Pulp Fiction–shut the fu** up!

Cheese: Shhhh! Jeez, keep your voice down! That little kid at the next table is looking at you!

Yidiot: (turns, looks–gives kid the finger, turns back, steals piece of bacon off dave’s plate)

Doe: Oh my god...Dave is gonna freak!

Schultzie: Relax, Doe. Dave is lining his pockets with swine as we speak. (everyone turns to look. sure enough–dave is at the breakfast-bar stuffing the pockets of his plaid blazer with strips of hot bacon)

Ma: Oh my gosh--he did the same thing at MY house...

Nancy: So? He likes bacon–let him be.

Ma: You don’t understand–that guy uses bacon for a bookmark! I had to butcher three hogs just to keep him fed for a weekend.

Dave: (coming back to table) Who ate my bacon?

BG: (a flash of inspiration) The manager just came and took it off your plate–said you’d had enough.

Dave: (suddenly serious, head snaps) Are you sh**ing me?

    BG: (laughs) No...Cheesy stole it.

Dave: (gives cheese a murderous look) You put your filthy hands on my plate?

Cheese: (alarmed--looks at beege) What??? Are you gonna let me take the rap for this?

Yidiot: I told him not to, Dave. He wouldn’t listen.

Schultzie: I saw the whole thing. I pretty sure I saw him finger your scrambled eggs, too.

    Doe: It was disgusting.

CBOLAR: ( laughs) Yeah, what were you lookin’ for in there, Cheesy--spare change?

Ma: (shakes head) That’s just wrong. (Gives cheese an accusing look) We should make you pay for breakfast!

Waitress: (comes back, gives dave a shoulder rub) Who gets the check?

Nancy: (points at cheesy) Give it to the troublemaker.|||What, no mention of Iano drilling a gloryhole in the mens room?|||Not with you.eat alone. Thanks to my sister i see you blocked bannibal.

    Weirton, WV, January 30, 2008

Former WVU football coach Rich Rodriguez reportedly walked out on his International House of Pancakes breakfast this morning in favor of a more substantial meal at a nearby Shoney's.

Local IHOP Manager Erv Puckman confirmed that the new Michigan coach arrived at 8:45 a.m., ordered several menu items, then dashed out shortly after 9:30 a.m.

Hostess Millie Packer said Rodriguez established an instant rapport with those around him, and his initial orders of savory bacon and piping hot buckwheat cakes were real crowd pleasers. When we first arrived, we had to carry our luggage from the Narita airport to Yokohama. At first my friend made me carry all of the luggage for her. We first took a bus, but then we had to take a subway. Finding our way was very difficult. We had to transfer lines once. Figuring our tickets was also difficult at first, but people stopped to help us. At one station, someone told us that we were close enough to walk on foot. This is when my friend carried all of the luggage for me. They gave us directions telling us that the house was just after a gym, and that we would turn right after the gym. He told us it would take only 10 minutes to walk to the neighborhood from the station. We were able to find our way to the international housing district of Yokohama where my father’s business partner lived. This was hard for us, but at the end of the trip the train lines seemed easy to navigate. We thought the Yokohama Blue line was very convenient. • Three come to mind for me, and I will name them in the order in which I like them:

First place goes to Village Inn and Pancake House, a chain I have mainly encountered in New Mexico. I have not seen them in many other places, but I suspect they probably have a few in other states. I like them because I got good service, good food and a reasonable price.

Second place goes to International House of Pancakes, a larger chain found in several states and in a lot of places in Texas, where I live. Again, I have found them to have good service, good food (especially if you like pancakes) and their prices are also pretty good.

Third place goes to Denny's. Now, honestly, I have had poor service at some of their restaurants, and excellent service at others. The quality of the food has also varied. Their prices are usually comparable to Village Inn and IHOP.

My yardstick for judging a good breakfast place is the Steak and Eggs platter. I like my steak rare to medium rare, my eggs over easy and the other sides should be hash browns or grits (but I don't care for grits.) At IHOP you get your steak and eggs with pancakes. That's usually an option at other places as well, but sometimes I like a biscuit or English muffin instead.

Which of these or which other chain gets you off to a good start in the morning? The Kettle? One of the above? Or is there another chain you like?

Mom and pop places are great, but this question isn't about them, so please limit your answers to chains with more than five restaurants. It's fine if it's one I've never heard of.

This is another in a series of questions about dining out. I like it, so share your ideas on where to go.|||East of the MIssissippi, it is Bob Evans. Great, great food. They are most popular for their breakfasts. Sunday mornings, expect a long line. Never had their steak and eggs, but the country fried steak is out of this world. Their breakfast meats (sausage links and patties, and bacon) are so famous they're sold in stores. Excellent sausage.

True national chains...Village Inn probably wins.

Colorado Only: Gunther Toody's Diner wins with no contest. A 50's themed restaurant, their breakfasts are incredible. Only 8 locations statewide, with most being along Interstate 25.

The BEST places for breakfast are local dives. I've lived in six states and travel a lot. The BEST local dive for breakfast is: Sammy's in Katy, Texas...just west of Houston. A greasy dive. The owner and his wife are the cooks. Their kids are the help (augmented, of course). Small, no nonsense, not fancy by any stretch, but WOW can they cook. Their huevos rancheros is the best nationwide.

Peace, and good eating.|||Forget chains when it comes to breakfast your best served going to an old fashioned diner where the eggs are real, the coffee hot,the service friendly, and the atmosphere pleasant. Of your choices, I guess I'd go with Denny's.|||mcdonalds|||Probably i hop|||None are, I like the locals.|||My absolute favorite place for breakfast is Friendly's. They have the best french toast i ever had! However, I have relocated and now the closest location is 45 minutes away, and I can't get up that early to go to breakfast. So, the place I normally go to now is Ihop. However, one thing I like better about them is that they have breakfast 24/7|||I work at Cracker Barrel and I actually don't mind eating there either, which should say a lot to anyone who's ever worked in the food business. They make their biscuits from scratch and are really, really tasty. For your steak and egg breakfast, it all depends on the cooks at the time and how much training they've had. More experienced cooks will send food out the correct way, every way where as less experienced ones may get steaks and eggs sent back for not being done properly. The Cracker Barrel's steak and egg breakfast comes with an 8 oz. steak, 3 eggs, hashbrown casserole, fried apples, grits, gravy, and biscuits. It's rightfully called The Country Boy Breakfast. They serve breakfast all day but they're only open 6am-10pm (11 on Fri/Sat).

You can substitute extra hashbrowns or apples for the grits for 89 cents or something like that. Or just extra gravy and biscuits.|||All three are good because they serve breakfast anytime. My favorite is Village Inn. I like their menu and service - they will substitute fruit and/ or vegetables for the potatoes (I'm not a big potato fan). Ours nearby has specials often to help cut cost at certain times too. There petite sirlon steak and eggs is always good (though I usually end up bringing home half the steak for a sandwich later). I also like there strawberry crepes they have had this summer - though again, I either bring half home or share with my husband because it is so big.|||Anyone NOT SERVING GMO food Dear Friend. I love the Swedish pancakes. It probably goes back to my younger years. My best friend in school had a grand mother from Sweden. She would make Swedish Pancakes. We would eat them with butter and sugar.

Denny's is pretty good for breakfast. I used to bowl in a league and we would end up at Denny"s after the night for a late breakfast.

I've had epilepsy for half my life and I've always prayed for healing, but this time I was really determined. So I went on a road trip to the International House of Prayer this past week in hopes of deliverance and healing, and several people prayed on me. I've been trying to draw closer to God.

However, on the second night I had a seizure. I was heartbroken and wounded both physically and emotionally. I honestly have no idea what the cause may be - I have not been deprived of anything and nor have I been skipping medication or feeling extreme stress. I questioned God's existence. Why would He allow me to have a seizure? It just made me feel more hurt, distant, and confused. If God wants me to draw close to Him, how is that to happen when this situation made me more doubtful and hurt?

Yes, I talk to God first about everything, and I unload every emotion every time I pray. But no matter how hard I try, I never hear a response.

    Please help me.

Any comments from nonbelievers will be ignored.|||I have had it since I was 8 months old, and I'm 22 now. I have wondered why God would do such a thing. So I thought about it and this makes me who I am. If I didn't have epilepsy who would I be? If I didn't have it I could drink, drive a car, etc. This also help me emphasize with others who may have some sort of disability and helps me see them as a normal person. I also believe that he wants me to help spread the word of Epilepsy. A lot of people don't know what it is and I have already done 2 projects on it and therefore taught about 30 people. Maybe it was a sign from God saying that it is not time to be healed. Maybe he wants you to let people know about it and when he fills you fulfilled enough he will answer your prayer. Your prayer will be answered not on your time but on God's time.|||He DOES want you to draw closer to Him, that's why he's testing your faith because faith brings us closer to Him. I'll pray for you though :)|||you know when you put up a big neon sign that says '"CHRISTIANS ONLY" that every non-christian is going to come running just to harass you|||Your life and His grace are sufficient for you... My headaches have nothing to do with my faith in God. When I have one, do I ask for His mercy, that it will subside? Of course I do. But whether it does nor not....He is still God and I still love Him. That I still get headaches has nothing to do with how much I trust Him; which I do.

Our bodies, remember, are fragile, in a fallen state. you have epilepsy, I have migraines. someone else has a missing limb, someone else is blind, someone else can't hear.

We have to accept it and go on. Perhaps the stress of what you were feeling brought on the seizure this time. I have always believed that God may not heal you when you ask but if you believe and trust in Him he gives you courage and hope to overcome the thing. God did not heal Paul either even though Paul asked Him too. I am referring to Paul in Corinthians of the bible. Our bodies are subject to faulty genes, injuries and illness. That is the way of the human being. Sometimes God heals someone, I have know a few in my life. I have not been healed of a desease that I have had most of my life. Dear, it was GOD who called and promised Abraham that HE will bless HIM with a kingdom at the age of 80. That time Abraham was without a child even without Ishmael that was born through Hagar the slave girl. GOD kept repeating HIS promise of blessing Abraham with a child. But it took 20 years for fulfilling it. Do GOD need such a time to fulfill anything? NO. GOD fulfills everything in HIS appointed time. GOD tests us for our faith and for HIS glory. When we resolve to put our trust in GOD and go to HIM in prayer with our desires and for solutions to our problems, let us remember how we approach HIM. JESUS CHRIST taught us how to pray."Our Father who art in heaven hallowed be THY name. ....THY will be done on earth as it is in heaven." By this, we pray that all the things be done as per HIS will. And we need to believe that all things are being done as per HIS will.
Not all the godly prophets, saints lead easy life. Almost all the 11 disciples were persecuted and martyred for faith. They were powerful to raise dead people, heal the sick and by the working of The HOLY SPIRIT could do amazing miracles, yet they had to undergo various trials and persecutions.
GOD has HIS own plan in our life which we may not be able to fully understand. Joseph underwent severe problems, but GOD was with him at all times. He trusted GOD to deliver and GOD did delivered him. Jeremiah could not understand GOD's way of dealing with the heathens. He complained why the pagans prosper?
So, do not give time frame for HIM to answer. Believe when you say, 'Let THY will be done".
We are not to tell HIM to carry out something in our appointed time but in HIS appointed time.
GOD loves you. GOD will surely cure you, COMPLETELY. We do not know HIS plan and when we still do not know let us keep trusting HIM. GOD bless you and wipe all of your tears. In JESUS CHRIST' Holy Name. AMEN|||Perhaps so that you could ask this question. Everything follows gods designs. The fact that his plans may include some suffering on your part, does not mean there is not a grand design of which you are simply a small part. Consider the fact that what you go through may be the catalyst of a vitreous response in others. It may move them to volunteer, donate, or simply thank god for their health. While it may seem unfair that god has singled you out to be the means by which he will soften the hearts of others keep in mind that, as long as you have faith in him, he can reward you an thousand times over in heaven.|||I will pray for you. Let me pray for you, and please pray for me.

If you need to talk. I suggest contacting your local Christian Science reading room and ask for a list of Christian Science practitioners whom you can call and they will pray with you and tell you why they believe that God heals ALL sickness.

They will help you to see that God created you for a very special purpose.. there must be a blessing hidden somewhere in your physical illness. Your body is very sick but you are not your body. You are a perfect spiritual creation. You are the physical manifestation of a perfect and unique idea that God had. God only has perfect ideas and you are one of them.

    its still not done though

It's a bright and sunny Monday morning in New York . Rays of sun were

coming through my closed curtains and shining in my eyes then my alarm clock went off.

"Grr, fine I'm getting up. Gosh!" I turned off my screaming clock, got up

and dragged myself to my closet.

"Okay, What should I wear today?" I looked at all of my clothes and

noticed that all my pants and jeans look the same. My shirts too, the only difference was some where plain, other where stripped and one was poke-a-dot, my mom got it for me for Christmas last year.

"Okay just randomly pick." I grabbed a blue polo with white

strips and a pair of jeans. I went to the bathroom, did my business andbrushed my teeth. I walked to my refrigerator, but it was empty.

"I guess breakfast on the go." I put my shoes on, got my stuff and headed out.

When I got outside it was the same craziness. People waving their arms just for a taxi, others were yapping away on their phones. I see my favorite donut shop, and I started to walk towards it, I catch my reflection on a window and notice that I need to hit the gym this weekend. So, I stopped andlooked around and I spot a hot dog stand. I walk up to the stand and order a

hot dog with ketchup and mustard.

"Coming right up." I watched the man take out a slice of bread.

"Umm, excuse me, what’s the bread for?"

"Your hot dog, what else would it be for?"

"Aren't you suppose to use a hot dog bun?"

"Well yeah, but I ran out yesterday."

"What! How can you run out of hot dog buns?"

"Hey, you still want your hot dog or not?

    “What do you think?"

    "Yes?"

    "No!" and I walked away.

I kept walking till my stomach reminded me that we still need to eat, so I

looked around again, I saw a Starbucks, McDonalds, and an IHOP, me and

stomach both agreed on the International House of Pancakes. When I got

there, there was a huge line.

"Oh, that's just perfect! Might as well just stay here." I waited and waited.

My stomach was yelling at me the whole time. But finally I got to the front of

the line but I had to wait for a table to be opened, I saw a family of four get up

and asked if I could have that table but the waiter said that it was for the

    people a head of me.

“What?” I yelled “I’ve been in line for about half an hour”

“Hey, you’re not the only one!” I heard someone yell in the back.

    “Well no one asked you!”

“Please sir be patient.” The waiter said what sounded like an annoyed voice

“What do you think I have been doing this whole time?” I pushed passed

her and stormed into the kitchen.

“Who’s the chef? Cuz I want some pancakes now!” they all stood there

like they just saw a ghost or something.

“Umm? Who are you?” a man asked as he walked up to me.

    “I’m hungry that’s who I am!”

    “What? Are you okay?

“No!!” and next thing I know two men are pining me down to the floor.

One of them says “You’re arrested.”

They throw me into the police car and drove me to the station. THey asked for my information and

took my mug shot, which I did smile. They they escorted me to a cell.

"Hey, don't I get a phone call or something?"

"Yeah, but later." said the policeman

    "What?"

"Will you be quite!" came a voice from behind. I turned around and saw a huge guy getting up, he

was about 6'1 I think. He had a dragon tattoo on his arm and he was bald.

    "oh, umm, my bad."

    "So, why you here."

"i have no idea. all i did was|||I like it. I like the exciting stuff happening right away. It pretty much makes the book seem that there will be even MORE exciting stuff later. First I washed the clothing in hot water and then pretzels. Crabna Sexual Positions entered my life three years ago and now my life is in trouble!!!

Should I tell my boss that I quit because of Nintendo Games or because of French Burgers? When I was at the basketball game I saw the cheerleaders and my cousin was mad at me for relaxing myself.

But I can bench press over 300lbs and I am great at Michael Tyson's Punch Out, as well as watching adult videotapes.

Can anyone help me steal cable from my neighbor? Should I break into his car and fall asleep again? Whatever you say I will do. I was arrested at International House of pancakes before, you should know. Quiet Riot is my favorite band of all time.
    BANG YOUR HEAAAAAAAD!!!!
METAL MUSIC WILL DRIVE YOU MAAAD!|||Okay, because of Michael Tyson's Punch Out there was a ninja reoccurring from drug abuse--and that is point one.

Perhaps you could research how Snow Leopards become human beings on a regular basis, that might help with the adult videotape situation and also about how the bass player of Quiet Riot later joined Whitesnake.

All you have to do to steal illegal cable from the neighbor is blow up an ice cream cone with your mind in front of him--it is a demonstration of power that he cannot ignore, this will then give you access to his porno tape archive (VHS ONLY) and perhaps HBO programming as well.

Bench pressing mind power is considerably harder, and you may want to consult an Orange or Pear therapist for the initial consultation. French Burgers are the best, as well. THANKS!

I won't eat at Arby's only if you pay me certain amounts of money in Pirate coins. Or ET stickers from the 1980's.|||wha?

    Sun. Morn. 10:30
    International House Of Pancakes
    Muncie, Indiana
    (corner booth)

Nancy: God, I’d thought we’d NEVER get seated...

Dave: (looks around in amazement) This place is a freaking MADHOUSE.

Socrates: (smugly) I told you we should’ve got here earlier.

Cheese: (mildly exasperated--having chosen the time) Jeez, Paul, we only waited fifteen minutes–what’s the problem?

Dave: (fielding question) The problem, Head-Cheese, is that now I have to use the dumper! Somebody order me some coffee. Lizzy, could you move over, let me out?

Lizzy: (gets to her feet, annoyed) Guess I don’t have much choice–fighting the turtle, are you?

Dave: (slides out--giving her a dirty look, then ignores question) Cheese, can I get you anything while I’m in the can?

Cheese: No, Dave–I think I’m gonna hold out for the buffet...

Schultzie: Bring me back a couple urinal-cakes. (Dave smirks, heads towards the bathroom)

    Nancy: Wise choice, Schultzie.

Socrates: (trying to be clever) I don’t know, Nancy. I’ve found the urinal-cakes in this establishment to be sub-par.

Nancy: What’s wrong with them, Paul?

Socrates: (sighs) I don’t know; I was just trying to be clever...

Lizzy: Zagat’s writes they are brittle, leave burns on the roof of your mouth, and have an aftertaste reminiscent of Mint Listerene.

Nancy: (impressed) Wow! Thanks for the warning--I was gonna get one ‘to go’.

Lizzy: (drily) That’s what I’m here for.

Cheese: They’re not bad with a little milk and brown-sugar...

    Socrates: I’m lactose intolerant...

Lizzy: (nods to the entrance) Speaking of intolerant, look who just walked in...(heads swivel)

Nancy: (genuinely shocked) Oh my god...Is that Hiram?

Cheese: Yeah, I invited him...guess he’s running a little late. (waves H.H. over)

H.H: Jesus, traffic was a *****! (to Lizzy) Hey, will you slide over a bit--can I sit down?

Lizzy: Well, Dave is sitting here...but, ok. (Slides over, taking Dave’s spot)

H.H: (sits down) So, what are we talking about?

Nancy: Hello Hiram. We were just discussing urinal-cakes, and the best way to prepare them.

H.H: (alarmed) Not the ones here! They’re terrible!

Schultzie: They're not so bad...You just gotta hold ‘em under the blower for a few minutes...but not too long.

Lizzy: (laughs) Yeah, there’s nothing worse than an overblown piss-biscuit.

(Dave returns, chatting with waitress. She laughs--squeezing his biceps)

Waitress: Coffee here, for everybody? (fills cups, everyone orders the breakfast bar)

Dave: (to waitress--in exaggerated stage-whisper, as she fills last cup) You might wanna tell the dishwasher--the toilet in the men’s room needs serious attention...

Waitress: (rolls eyes, smacking gum) When doesn’t it? (leaves)

Dave: (looks at H.H.) Hello, Hiram...you took my seat. (looks around, grabs a chair from next table.

Schultzie: Lizzy sold it to him. Where’s my potty-cake?

Lizzy: Can we change the subject, for God’s sake?

Dave: Sure. Here’s something you probably didn’t know: Did you know maple trees don’t really make maple syrup? It’s actually a by-product of dead possums and skunks that lived and subsequently died inside the tree.

Socrates: (spits coffee, looks at Dave with disgust) So why just maple trees, genius?

Nancy: (deadpan) You can get sap out of anything, Paul. Have you ever tried oak syrup? It’s nasty.

H.H. You’re both wrong...The syrup is actually found in vast underground ‘aquifers’, not unlike oil. The maple trees use their extensive root system to pull it from depths of up to100 feet.

Lizzy: Yes! The pools were created thousands of years ago by aliens...

Schultzie: Here’s a little-known-fact: It was originally known as Mabel syrup...named after the lady who discovered it–Mabel Feinberg.

Nancy: Yes! I read about that–she was walking through the deep-woods in northern Vermont in 1802, tripped over a small rock, and her front-teeth imbedded in the root of a white-maple. She lay there for six days, living only on what she could suck from the tree...

Socrates: That’s right. She became a millionaire overnight. Great American success story.

Lizzy: Emphasis on ‘suck’. (nobody laughs, Lizzy shakes head in disbelief) I’ll be here all week.

Dave: (coughs politely) Speaking of syrup...Cheese, I thought you hated the syrup here...didn’t you swear you’d, “never come back to this sh*thole”?

Cheese: (blushes) I came prepared, this time. (reaches in pocket, pulls out small bottle of Pure Maple Syrup)

Nancy: (eying tiny bottle with disdain) I hope you brought enough for everybody.

Dave: Cripe, Cheesy, how many possums have to die before that nasty habit of yours is finally sated?|||Awesome.

i'm concerned that my friend is throwing his life away, but i know that anything i say he will ignore, and arguing will only strengthen his resolve. is there anything i can do?|||Being a "loose atheist", why can't you spare them?

How is your leader any different than Joseph Smith, or Mary baker Eddy or any known dead or living cult leader?. Show me how with scriptural truth.

Would you follow your leader into and including death like the folks in Waco texas did? show me why with scriptural truth.

He wont be able to and or he will refuse you, but make your point strongly that you believe this is what he is doing and show him by, scriptural truth.|||Tell them the time for working is now, while there's still light. Someday there won't be. Until then, WORK, not sit in a building out of fear. The time for fear died when Jesus Christ rose from the dead.

There's only one temple, and that's in heaven. Tell them.... look around you. Does this look like its already heaven? God doesn't dwell "with" them. He dwells IN them. THEY are the temple. It's not a building made by human hands or design. That pretty much eliminates every single building on the earth.

I just spent that past 3 1/2 months in Sevilla learning spanish. I will be returning to spain in April to continue but I would like to go to a different city, preferably in a different region. I have decided against both Barcelona and Madrid because of their size. I am also wary of regions with languages or dialects of their own, though am willing to be persuaded. My ideal town would be a place with a lot of life, good food, not too big but nothing small (large enough so that there is definitely a good night life), fun/nice people, and not a sickening amount of americans,
In Sevilla I took classes at CLIC (international house) which I absolutly adored. However, I realize that there are not schools run by international house in that many cities and that other schools could possibly be just as good.

I'm a junior in college, taking up English with a concentration on Adolescent Education. I want to teach abroad so badly and been researching for internships abroad. I've found that International House Madrid (affiliate of International House World) offers a one month intensive Spanish course and after that, will send a student to a Spanish company to intern without pay. However, if ever I'd do it, I'd have to pay 1170euros (this includes the 4-week intensive Spanish course and the job-placement). In addition to that, if I don't have a place to stay there, they have a host family that would provide bed and breakfast for me for 141euro a week (total of 1692euros for three months since 3 months is all I have for the summer).
In total, I would have to spend roughly $4700 for the Spanish class, the internship placement, and my b&b for three months. Moreover, I would still need pocket money for miscellaneous things. It's quite a lot of money, but want to do this badly.

Is this worth it?|||Only you can really answer this question. Is teaching in Spain a dream of yours or is that the only country that has offered an opportunity? If you feel the experience is worth the expense, then yes, go for it. If you do not, then don't go. Have you tried to find an internship/job in an English speaking country? That way you already know the language and wouldn't have to tackle that mountain. Have you tried talking to the English department chair or another professor about what you would like to do? He/She may have some other options for you.|||I do not know this company either directly or by reputation, but the prices do not sound all that bad.

I lived and taught in Japan for three years. Very very good experience. I wouldn't give back a minute of it. It expanded my thinking a lot. I know there are other people who have had terrible experiences abroad; there are stories on both sides. For me, yes, worth it, no doubt at all.|||Sounds like a scam to me. Stay away. Want to go to Spain. Take the money you would have spent on this program, go to Spain and immerse yourself in the culture. You'll learn the language. Then donate your time at a school. At least you know its genuine. Why give some company money to exploit you?

The Department of Defense hires teachers for American schools overseas so that also would be an option. People like that would want to know that you have been overseas and culturally exposed. My daughter did a study abroad through University of Maryland that was amazing. She stayed in Madrid with a single mother with a young son. It was an amazing experience.

I might also mention that as a teacher you can take student groups abroad. I have done that several times. Teachers in overseas American schools take students on excursions. So, I say go for it. Last night I had customers from a church called International House of Prayer (http://www.ihop.org/). Arriving at the address in Grandview, at first I thought it was a small shopping center. They had a Gift/Card store, plus a nice IHOP Espresso Bar, and another business. Looking through the windows, I could see they were connected to the church, where a rock band was playing.

The drove the visitors back to their hotels. They were from out of the country and was here for a conference. This Church is pretty far out and not in any of the normal areas where we find customers, so if I had not gone out to get them, they may have been waiting a few hours.

I asked why someone else in the church didn't drive them back to the hotel? They said they didn't know anyone. Isn't fellowship in a faith a part of getting to know each other in the faith, and knowing they can ask anyone for help? The place just felt more like a night spot than it did a church of learning and worship.|||that is very common theese days...
I know people who attend those churches who on examination have nothing in common with what the church says it stands for.
I simply try to put it in perspective, it doesnt work for me, and I highly suspect there is some corruption involved with so many money-making opportunities around (the giftshop, espresso bar...) but you never know they may be using that money for good...and in the end while it may not work for folks like you and me it may be good for someone else.
there are still plenty of places around with a close knit religious community, if you are looking for one i'm sure you'll be able to find it just seek out a smaller church that has views similar to your own.|||Well, since you know nothing about IHOP, I can understand why you think that. Let me try to explain it. IHOP is a 24/7 house of Prayer. All the money goes into IHOP.

    |||The rock band you were talking about? That's a worship band. Which goes on 24/7. I don't get why you'd call it a rock band. Go in for a 2 hour set, and you'll see how soft the music usually is.

    |||IHOP funds that music, 24/7. It costs millions of dollars to keep IHOP running 24/7. With all the music, and the lights, and the free conferences and everything else.

    |||The real estate building is there so people can get housing near IHOP. The thrift store is there so IHOPers can get cheap clothing. Most don't work, and are sponsored to be on full time staff. They live off, at most 20k.

    |||IHOP uses the coffee shop to help fund IHOP, and help people on internships to work in the IHOP enviorment. It's hardcore, I know. But IHOP is IHOP. No one asked. If you ask, they let you use one of the shuttles. Especially if they're missionaries. We probably provide money for their cause.

    |||And IHOP is not a church. It's a place to go and worship God.

Forerunner is the church. There are services Fri-Sun. If you go on the website you can view the webstream for free.

My daughter never did until she got married it seems.|||I suppose if someone is forced to go there with a group or friend or whatever, they may not want pancakes. Sam, my younger sister, is starting to terrify me. At 20 years, she's in college.

    For now.

We were both brough up Christian, and I've always been proud as to how strong she has always been.

Other than an obsession with being a preacher's wife, she has lead a normal teenage life. She loves TV, pop, etc. She was normal.

As a college freshman she decided she was called to be an intercessory missionary and wanted to quit school. That was a rough 3 months for my whole family because my sister has never even been on a mission trip and is NOT ready to come up to the Kansas City International House of Prayer on her own. She has yet to even hold a job!

Lately she's can't hold a conversation without turning it into a sermon. A phone conversation attempting to find out how school is going turns into a conversation about the glory of Immanual.

I just don't know where my sister is going, and I don't know how to deal with her anymore.|||It is always tough when people are so focused that they really are not seeing the whole picture. I personally have always admired the people that lead by example and not by words...

That said. Your sister going on a mission trip, might be one of the best things that could happen. It would be a very humbling experience and hopefully she would mature and learn from people who are also in that experience.

She is trying hard right now to find herself, her piece in this puzzle, andshe is just going about it all wrong.

The only other suggestion I would have would be to try having a loving conversation with her. That you are proud of her passion and commitment but try to share with her how her approach makes other people feel. She probably just does not get it. Keep in mind it is especially hard to see you are wrong when you have good intentions.

Hope this helps. She is lucky to have a sister that loves her enough to care about it this much.|||I would pray for her and also consult your pastor|||YOUR SISTER NEEDS SOME DICK FAST ,,,I'M DEAD SERIOUS!!!|||She needs to drop all this brainwashed nonsense find a man and have children ''go forth and multiply sayeth the lord'' he did not say devote your life to some nuts version of the gospel.|||When my sister was 20 she traveled ALOT and I'm only 13 and I travel alot by myself|||WOW. mabey she thinks that it would be easyer that school.|||You should take your concerns to your parents. They are the ones who need to deal with this alleged problem.

It is difficult to walk the line between strong Christian belief and cult-like adoration. You're not qualified to deal with her.

Let your parents work this out.|||Wow, I was just thinking about the movie saved! I don't have too much advice, but maybe she needs some counseling, or maybe she needs to talk to her pastor. Goodluck.|||I've never seen the movie Saved but from what you say her Christian ways are more cult than anything. A Christian being in the service of the Lord would not put down others for their ways. I would seriously think about seeking some help for her. This does not sound right to me.|||Sounds like your sister is simply a little judgemental right now.

Don't worry, that will get knocked out of her. You, her sister, can't stand it. What do you think her friends are doing?

It may take awhile, but the school of hard-knocks is almost always successful.

If she doesn't get better, but only worse, find some verses in the Bible that address being judgemental and proud. Jesus may use you to convinct her of being so proud. If there's no affect, I'm afraid that she's just putting on a show or simply can't deal with being wrong.

God Bless|||There is nothing you can do, except be loyal and supportive. You may think that she is getting extreme, but I am sure she knows what she wants out of life, and that may be the road she chooses to go down.

Maybe her strengths are such that she is testing the boundaries of her limits, she twenty and that's what twenty year olds do. If you are concerned enough, tell her. But don't rubbish her. She has to find her own routes in life, and if she burns her fingers doing so, she will retreat. Only Sam can do that. Nobody can tell her or warn her, let hyer find out for herself.

Meantime, you support her, be strong and let her decide what is best. You might not like it ... but then its not your life.

Good Luck|||From what you described, she is not headed for the cult. She has a strong belief in God,and wants ti share it with you.As her sister it is your place give her encouragement in what she wants to do.And to let her know how your thoughts on it.|||Well for her,she finds fullfillment in her religious faith, and her pious attitude.
Inform her of the concern you have for her, tell her missionary work is no joke. People who are missionaries, live and breathe and sleep GOD. Confront her, there is no doubt in my mind that she has her intentions in the right place, but of what value is being a preacher's wife, when the only thing she can ever know is the Bible, church, and the white picket fence?
She may rationalize,"faith without works is dead",but does faith neccessarily mean, you neglect your earthly duties? Taking a job, getting enough education to abtain that job. No crime in loving God,but there is a place where you can take it to far.
My advice to you is, find what makes her passionate about this situation, and rationalize yet persuade her she can keep her faith, but realize there is other things in life.|||your sister needs help, i think the only one who can help her is god though.|||I see nothing unusual about her behaviour. The call of God comes without repentance.|||I think that you should just support your sister regardless of how you may feel about her chosen profession. I know that it is hard, but try. If this is what she believes the Lord wants her to do, then time will tell. God is great that way! Try not to criticize her choice, because this may be just a way for her to get attention. Focus instead on her day, or what she has plans to do for the weekend, holidays, etc. and don't argue with her. If this really upsets you, and she continues to turn everything into a sermon, especially if you are on the phone, then tell her (everytime) you need to go and politely hang up. Eventually, she will get the message. Pray for her and your family! Just be patient.

An angry mob attacked a reporter and a photojournalist Sunday, but it wasn't in the Middle East, it was in California.

The journalists were hit and pushed by family and friends of a young man who had been gunned down the night before outside an International House of Pancakes restaurant in Sacramento.|||No but it is a tactic of the left, violence and property damage have long been their method of operation|||They shouldn't have done that.

But at the same time, after reading the article, I kind of understand. Those people had a loved one gunned down less than 24 hours before and had gathered at the scene of the shooting to remember him. The reporter wouldn't allow them any peace and kept badgering them with questions. I can understand why distraught people like that might lash out in that situation. Doesn't make it right, but I don't exactly approve of what the reporter was doing either.

Edit: Sorry, I didn't realize the purpose of this question was to just spin a news article and mindlessly bash Americans as uncivilized. I actually gave a real answer by mistake. Carry on, I won't get in your way.|||Why are these people IN America: because you allow them free reign and support their non working ways and attitudes.

Why are these people in AMERICA attacking reporters: because they are inherently violent and left unchecked continue to breed that way.

is this civilized behavior? for the congo maybe, and certain parts of the US, thanks to mass breeding and feeble minds allowed to pull a voter lever for a piece of cheese.|||It was too soon after the incident for the liberal media to be trying to capitalize off the kids death and they pissed off the already emotionally distraught family members. The liberal has no decency or respect for anyone, they only care about the story and their ratings.|||Yes, I agree...very uncivilized behavior...Have you ever watched Jerry Springer?? The show will give you a good understanding of low class, ignorant behavior of some here in the US. You can't fix stupid !|||It's not appropriate, but these people had just lost someone close to them so I understand the emotional turmoil and the lack of desire to talk about it with media, especially while they were at the memorial.|||Its California, what do you expect?|||The picture tells all.

What is the International House of Pancake's policy on calling in sick?
    How does it work?
How early do I have to call in? Can I even call in sick at all?
Thanks ahead of time! :)|||I would think, if you have a fever or something contagious, they don't want you in. I know I don't want a sick person anywhere near my food. and when I was waiting tables, I didn't come in with a fever or anything contagious - if you are truly sick, something as simple as a cold could kill a person with suppressed immunity (cancer, on steroids).

most likely 2 hours before your scheduled start.

call your manager/supervisor - get a live person, not a machine

don't make a habit of calling out sick for busy shifts, or the day after you've been to a party that everyone knows about. if you call out sick for more than two days in a row, you should probably see a doctor and bring in a note.

I wondered what you think of this newws report?
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-…|||I am not a member but attended Kansas City Fellowship pre IHOP days.
I also attended when it was a Vineyard and have heard Bickle speak on many occasions.

The byline is misleading . Bickle did not say she was the anti Christ.
Bickle actually says she is a forerunner who is preparing the way for the anti Christ .
The biggest problem with Mike and the good ole boys from KCF / IHOP remains their hostility to women and perpetuation of the Jezebel spirit teachings that swept through many evangelical churches via John Paul Jackson and other prophetic voices, who scattered to established their own ministries in other places..
This occurred when God was raising up women and bringing them into their own equality within the church. Why must the church remain hostile to women ? The original intro to KCF church members addressed that women were unique and in this uniqueness were to be in lesser positions of authority and this was 1988 or 1989. Now , we have the harlot spirit. Some people have a difficult time with change.
I am certain it is neither male nor female but you can smell the female hatred in the rhetoric.
There is some misogyny at IHOP and within the prophetic movement . It is present and is something I believe grieves God.
    Having said all of this..
Oprah spreads her version of evangelistic new age spirituality where anything goes. . Women and men alike seem to adore her. Our own President and his wife have been featured guests while Oprah refused to include Sarah Palin as a guest. She has power and is not afraid to use it.
I think she is one of the most powerful tools the liberal media has and she has managed to sway many women into buying into her brand of new age spiritualism. She is a nice person, She does good works and is generous all while dismissing biblical based faith.
I would not mention a woman like Oprah in the same sentence with harlot or the anti Christ. There is no question of where she stands on the issue of Christianity . She likes it watered down and ineffective.
Bickle should never have called her out when there was no purpose in doing so. It is one thing to ask for prayer for Oprah's conversion to Christ but another to say she is a forerunner of the antiChrist. It makes him appear unstable and in most areas he has been very balanced and not into the greed and power trip so many Christian leaders fall prey to.|||IHOP is a cult!

The "International House of Prayer" (IHOP) is a para-church ministry located in south Kansas City, Missouri. IHOP was founded by Rev. Mike Bickle in 1999. Its primary purpose seems to be international prayer of intercession. Since 1999, the International House of Prayer has experienced explosive growth, with the group acquiring significant amounts of property in Grandview, Missouri, and opening up satellite branches in other cities. The rapid expansion, the unusual practices, the fierce loyalty of many IHOP members, and the relative newness of the ministry have led many to question whether the International House of Prayer is a biblically-solid ministry or a cult.

At the International House of Prayer, there is active prayer taking place, literally 24/7, without interruption, and this has been the case for many years. 24/7 prayer is a good thing. There is no such thing as “praying too much,” so, in this area, IHOP is to be commended. The problem arises, however, in the type of prayer that is taking place. The International House of Prayer has adopted many of the practices of the contemplative prayer movement, with much more focus on mysticism and contemplative spirituality than on worshipping the Lord in prayer and interceding for others through prayer. Some elements of the IHOP employ prayer in a Word-Faith manner, claiming things from God rather than submitting to God’s will in humility. There are also reports of prophetic prayer, praying in tongues, and other ecstatic practices. So, while 24/7 prayer is commendable, if the prayers being uttered are not biblical, there is no true value in them.

Another concern with the International House of Prayer is its connection with the prophetic movement in general, and the Kansas City Prophets specifically. Instead of a biblical understanding of prophecy, that is, declaring the truth that God has revealed, IHOP essentially views prophets as Christian psychics, with prophetic hotlines, prophetic readings, and an emphasis on personal prophecy. Many have been led astray by those claiming to be apostles and prophets with a “word from the Lord.” There have been many reports of spiritual abuse and prophetic manipulation within the International House of Prayer movement.

This misunderstanding of the gift of prophecy leads to another area of concern. The International House of Prayer has an extreme over-emphasis on the miraculous gifts of the Spirit. Much has already been written on the cessation of the miraculous gifts, but IHOP’s use of these gifts goes far beyond what most Charismatics and Pentecostals will accept. At IHOP, the miraculous gifts of the Spirit are expected to be commonplace. Miraculous healings, visions, dreams, prophecies, tongues, words of knowledge, signs, wonders, etc., are claimed to be constant within the ministries of IHOP. Whether full cessationism is accepted or not, IHOP’s claims regarding the gifts of the Spirit do not at all agree with what the Bible presents. In the New Testament, the miraculous gifts of the Spirit authenticated the teachings of the apostles (2 Corinthians 12:12). If miracles are normal, they cannot have an authenticating quality to them. IHOP’s claims regarding miracles do not agree with what the Bible teaches about miracles, signs, and wonders. We would all be wise to remember Jesus’ warning in Matthew 24:24, “For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect—if that were possible.”

With all of that said, clearly IHOP should not be considered a biblically-sound ministry/organization. The above concerns are only the “tip of the iceberg” in comparison to some of the things that have been reported by former IHOP members/participants. Should the International House of Prayer movement be considered a cult? That is more difficult to answer. Generally speaking, a cult is a group that has false teaching on one or more of the core truths of the Christian faith, such as the deity of Christ or salvation by faith alone. On these core truths, IHOP appears to be solid and biblical. However, other common identifying factors of a cult are present at IHOP, such as it being controlled primarily be one individual, fierce loyalty to the organization, communal living, and a feeling of superiority over the uninitiated. So, while the International House of Prayer should probably not be considered a cult, there are enough serious concerns about its beliefs and practices that should prevent Christians from getting involved in its ministries.|||I love the International House of Prayer sign in Kansas City... the one for their "Faith Service Ministries"... a great big sign with "FSM" on it. How does the International House of Prayer use the name IHOP??? Wouldn't the International House of Pancakes sue them for the name IHOP???|||You can't patent a trademark acronym. You can patent a name, but just because the letters that make up the first letters of a name match up with those of another organization, unless you are a competing business you can't file a suit for patent violation with an acronym.|||IHOP could say that the International House of Prayer was
trying to deliberately mislead by using such a similar name. At which time the International House of Prayer would claim IHOP was anti-Christian and they would lose a lot of business.
It would be thrown out of court anyways. The acronym is not trademarked, only the name.
The International House of Prayer claims that the I H O P stands for Intercession, Holiness, Offering and Prophecy. What it really stands for is the fact that they wanted people who were online wishing to reach the website of the IHOP restaurant to unintentionally go to their website instead. Fundamentalist Christian writers have stooped to similar tactics, giving their books a title that they hoped people would mistakenly purchase when they meant to get the more popular title (see Dawkins Delusion instead of Dawkins' God Delusion).

I think it is very telling how dishonest people can be when they claim to be following "the truth".|||Actually, they should. I like eating at IHOP. I wouldn't want to get a taste for a BLT and accidentally show up at a place where a prayer revival is taking place.|||Actually it would be a good idea if both of them did some fusion :D

I'm an American college student majoring in biology and very interested in studying abroad for a year at Queen's University Belfast. I'd like to know a little more about the school (what's the international housing like, other students, professors, etc) and about Belfast (are the people nice, is it friendly to foreign students, what are the guys like ;P, etc). Got anything for me?|||Although I don't go there myself, Queens has an excellent reputation. It is a very prestigious university with a beautiful historic main building and good grade reputations.

The student halls (housing) are well known for being the cheapest in the UK, at around 拢65 per week and are very close to the university. You will get a wide variety of students from all over Northern Ireland, as well as from Ireland and from across the water, and there is a vibrant, but extremely relaxed atmosphere on campus.

Now for the area. It is in an area of South Belfast, which is very stylish and closely intertwined with the more rural Belfast. It's around a half-hour walk from the city centre, but is drastically quieter and more laid back. It is a VERY student-like area and has loads of cafes, restaurants, bars and nightclubs which often have student discounts and "student nights". It's my personal favourite area of Belfast.

As I said, Belfast is around half an hour away by foot (5-10 mins by train, but getting a train such a short distance seems pointless and expensive). Despite its turbulent past (*see source 1*), it is now considered to be one of the safest cities in Europe. It has hundreds upon hundreds of big name stores for shopping, as well as a massive new shopping centre with many designer brands and a relatively new Hollister store, which is very popular currently.

I can't really say that much about the guys - because I AM a guy. But many women who come to NI from abroad often say they like the guys because of the Northern Ireland accent - which interestingly, most Northern Irish people actually dislike and are embarrassed about. :P

The transport links are some of the most uncomplicated in the UK and can get you mostly anywhere - on the eastern side of the country at least.

If you want a bit of a look at the area, use Street-View on Google Maps/Earth to take you to right outside the university by typing: 54掳35'4.45"N, 5掳56'10.83"W

People from Northern Ireland are generally very friendly to foreigners. A lot of people from elsewhere consider the Northern Irish to be the friendliest peoples in the UK. Especially black-taxi drivers - they're a right laugh.

Also, you need to keep it in mind that Belfast is in **Northern** Ireland, which is in the UK (Britain) (*see source 2*). You will look like the ignorant American if you call it "Ireland" - not to mention that you will get mixed up in the whole Northern Ireland argument (see next paragraph). Just a heads up.

Another tip, if you decide to go here - don't get caught up in any of the Unionist/Nationalist, Catholic/Protestant stuff (*see source 1 again*). Leave that to the locals. Try to refer to the people as "Northern Irish", not British or Irish. As a foreigner, you are much much safer than a local from getting caught up in an argument of this sort, and you could probably travel completely safely to some places in Belfast that some locals would be too afraid to go to - so that's good lol.

And I don't know what idiot gave "Rask Balavoine"s answer a thumb-down. That's just the fact.|||Actually Belfast isn't in Ireland, it's in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and is so because the people decided that's what they wanted in a democratic vote

Good luck|||Well, No. 1, you probably shouldn't post your resume online. But besides, there;s not enough info. We don't know what city you're applying in, what job you are seeking, etc. Getting a job depends on a lot of factors, not the least of which is the current job market in your particular city. Perhaps the position you are seeking is not in high demand in the city you are applying for. We don't know. There are a ton of things that determing successful job hunting. but don't give up. Two months isn't really that long for a job search. There are people who have been looking for the right job for a year. In the meantime, they took work doing something else, just to get the money coming in. try that as well.

I'm staying at the International House on campus. Could someone please provide me with the name of a good airport to university shuttle service? Thank you.|||The previous poster talking about the 55 bus is misleading. Firstly, you do not need to take the Cicero bus to the 55 bus-- the 55 bus has a terminal at the airport. From the baggage claim area, follow the signs leading you to the train to the city/orange line [I'm not sure exactly how it's phrased], and instead of going through the train turnstiles find the sign for the 55 in the bus shelter area outside. This bus takes you directly to the U of C campus. Get off the bus at Blackstone and walk 4 blocks south, turn right on 59th and there you are!

The CTA stopped selling transfers on buses almost 3 years ago now. With this trip you won't need one, but you will save a quarter if you get a transit card from inside the doors of the train terminal at Midway. These transit cards also serve as transit cards nowadays. Go inside instead of straight out to the buses and find a fare machine and put however much money on that you'd like. Remember, these machines do not give change, so only put a $20 in there if you think you'll use it all. Cash fare on a bus is $2, fare with one of those transit cards is $1.75.

Good luck!|||There's the bus and no shuttle service|||There is taxi service from the airport to anywhere in the city.

At 55th street transfer to the number 55 bus going eastbound which will take you to the U of C. The whole fare should be two dollars and when you board the first bus you should ask for a transfer which costs a little more. You need to show the transfer when you board the second bus on 55th street. Good luck.|||What did the International House recommend?? I went to their center several times while I was living in Odessa. The school is expensive though. Here is a listing of Russian language schools in Odessa : http://www.2odessa.com/wiki/Business_directory_in_Odessa#Russian_studies

Since this is a wiki, you can add some more Russian schools you like, without registering.

I would also suggest going to the English Club in Odessa. http://www.2odessa.com/wiki/English_club Many of the people who go to this club are English teachers and can teach you or know who can teach you Russian.

The English resources section on 2odessa.com is also helpful:

I am looking at houses in aus and just just out of curiosity i looked into international houses that are for sale and they seemed to be really cheap. Like a 5 bedroom home for $149,000???|||The US is a really big place. There are places where you can get a 5 bedroom house for that price, yes. The wages there are also low, and it's likely that jobs are not exactly plentiful. There are parts of the country where that same house would cost you more like 800-900,000, depending on how much land comes with it. It all depends on the local job market, and then supply and demand. Location is everything.|||Depends where you are , the Aussie is going up while the US$ is going down.
Besides that we have many foreclosures due to banks lending at very low Variable rates The housing market doubled in price 4-5 years ago. I was buying a house 5 years ago and was outbid on 7 houses. So now people without jobs are losing their homes, and because the value fell its not worth them paying the mortgage.
But it depends where you live, NYC apartments can run 1 million while an Ohio home can be 25,000.|||yup the market went WAY WAY down....if i had the money i would totally buy one now.

From there I will be staying at a hostile one day before the show on the 19th (Rock The Bells). The hostel is Arlington International House. Is there bus options that accept bikes?
    Train that accepts bikes?

Thanks much, for the help all!|||Most of the busses do, but you have to put your bike on the bike rack in front of the bus. So you can't actually take it ON the bus. Also, you can take a bike on the Metra train but only during NON rush hour periods. The metra will take you to Tinley Park but I'm not sure of the exact location that it lets you out at. If you go to metra's website you can get the address of where you can get off and then you could probably use mapquest to find out how to get to the Amphitheatre from there.

Maybe some places that are quick and easy just get in get out and maybe some that are like sports bar-type? any help would be great! thank you|||Depends on how far you want to walk, but within walking distance of campus in general, I'd vote for Fat Slice or The Cheeseboard.

Fat Slice is on Telegraph just north of Durant. Definitely in walking distance of I-House.

Is IHOP (International House Of Pancakes) a fast food restaurant?|||No.-|||IHop isn't a fast food restaurant. You can tell the difference. Regular restaurants have menus and a waiter or waitress to serve you.|||no ihop is a chain restaurant. it has waiters and you sit down to eat like at a normal restaurant but there are many ihop locations, like a fast food restaurant, which makes it a chain.|||I wouldn't consider it fast food at all. OK, so it's called the International House of Pancakes. Such a title would suppose that a variety of pancakes from around the world were living at their facilities. Funnily, A) the pancakes are not international and B) even if they were, pancakes are not living things so it would be impossible for them to have a house. Can I sue for false advertising?|||well in todays world you can sue anybody for anything...
but will you win is another thing|||Pancakes are served in other countries and IHOP does use recipes from other countries, German and France come to mind. Therefore, they can use "international". Since a structure is used to serve the pancakes, they can call what they want. A dog has no legal claim to the "dog house" they live in but it is still called a house. The "Pro Bass Shop" is not constructed of professional dead fish, but it is still a legal and legitimate name.

You do not have a case, you would not be allowed to even bring it to court.|||In Sydney, you can walk into fast food shops and buy Homemade Cakes.

So let me ask. When are homemade cakes not made at home?

When the cakes are made in a factory and the business name is. Homemade Cakes.

Your shop is the same. Its a name of a business, not a statement of whats on offer.|||Technically, yes. But a judge would laugh your case out of court.

That's simply the name of the company, and granted they used to have a much better selection of pancakes, and they've become crapified, just like everyone else. That's why I no longer eat there. You can't even get chocolate pancakes there anymore for cryin' out loud!|||Funny, but t's called International House of Pancakes because they have franchises in many different countries, not because of your suppositions.|||Are you just sitting around getting high thinking of questions like this one and the "finger in my Big Mac" one?

That is, the International House of Prayer in Kansas City. You can get the live stream at their website.|||I have been here in since it started last week. They are not calling it a revival. They are calling it an "student awakening". The main focus of the awakening has been on healing from emotional wounds - particularly on self-hatred other bondages that students suffer from. My personal opinion is this: There are some wonderful and valid testimonies of people really having been delivered and awakened to God's love. There others who are testifying of physical healing, but that does not seem the main focus. There have also been some salvations and baptisms. The services are not so much "services" - they are more like long altar calls that go for 6 hrs nightly. The intensity of the service varies throughout the night - the spirit ebbs and flows. If a really good church service is a "2" on a scale of 1 to 5 - these meetings are between a 2 and 3 in the spirit's intensity. Of course when a person gets touched it's off the scale for them - because it's God touching them|||Yes! Its been so encouraging!

How should i contact agencies? Where should i have pictures of me taken? etc..|||Hey.....my sister did modeling in Orlando, FL in the US.
    This is what she did.
    1. Get professional phots done. Black and Whites. You'll pick from about 30 poses in different outfits. Get one full length and several headshots in 8x10 size. Get copies made at a copy company, at least 25 of each shot. These will be your "busines card" On the back have the printer print your stats, experience, goals, etc...
    2. Send these to several agents. A true agent works for a percent of the money from jobs they get you. Don't fall for the "modelling school" thing. It's a scam. It's OK to have more than one agent. Then they will compete to get you jobs.
    3. Wait patiently. Go on whatever interviews they can set up for you.
    4. You can also send your photos with bio to the agencies/companies you mentioned.

In all seriousness you should have curry as well as fish and chips - it's probably just as if not more popular over here than the traditional fish and chips. But please don't have mushy peas. They're just awful, and nobody will eat them. I hate them and I'm British! Yuck.

Bring on the cadbury's though! Better than any of that american rubbish you call chocolate - it's disgusting. Try to get real ales and cider in (and Scotch whisky goes without saying) - these are much more British than lager is, even though lager is drunk more often.

Don't forget for the pub quiz, don't make it too easy! Pub quizzes are often pretty challenging containing lots of specialist questions.

You should of course have a football tournament. That goes without saying. There's also some pretty weird British pub games you could play, http://www.tradgames.org.uk/ there's plenty here. If you want to be especially extreme then find a hill as steep as possible (we're talking practically a cliff) and throw a wheel of cheese down it. The object of the "game" is to reach the bottom of the hill (obviously without killing/maiming yourself) in order to get to the wheel of cheese first. (more at http://www.cheese-rolling.co.uk/)

    Good luck!

I would like to know the options of commuting from International house at university of Chicago to downtown. I have gathered that buses (CTA??) run from there through the lake shore drive and take about 30 min to reach downtown.
I would like to know the frequency of buses and if there are any other options. And whether I can get a bus to go back from downtown to international house late in the evening? How much would a taxi cost?
Is it a safe route? Will there be enough people around in June?
Thanks in advance...|||Hi, I work at the University & I catch the Metra.
You could get on at 59th or 57th (depending on the time); they run about every hour. It would cost you $2.15.
    Check this link http://metrarail.com/Sched/me/me_msi.sht鈥?/a>
The metra is a lot nicer than the bus to me.|||http://chicagotransitauthority.com/
This site will help you with all your travel planning. Use the trip planner option and type in the addresses. You may also call 888-YOUR-CTA to get travel info. Public transportation in usually good in Chicago. If you have the option to take the train (the 'el') do so. It's fast and runs frequently.|||Call the University. The University has a free shuttle bus that runs from UC to downtown. I'm not sure of the schedule/stops but I work downtown and see it almost every day.

Someone in my office said the shuttle was for University employees not students.|||I second the person who recommended the Metra; it is MUCH nicer than the bus but does not run as often....check it out.

I have my B.A. in Spanish and hope to gain experience and a good resume while teaching English in Spain. I also have a CELTA certificate from International House. I'd love to teach in a private school in the U.S. if it means I won't have to go back for a 2nd degree right away.|||Each state has their own requirement for certification. Private schools often have their separate requirements, so you would need to check with the school and/or state you wanted to teach for. The real need in public education for someone with your skills is not in teaching Spanish but in teaching English to Spanish speakers.|||You will need to check with the specific state's Department of Education for their requirements. Most states will require your B.A., some teaching experience, a fingerprint check, and a passing score on an examination (National Teacher's Exam/PRAXIS or a state-specific teacher's test). Google a state's name and "department of education" for more information.

they complained that my kids were too loud inside a family restaurant, there were other loud kids in the restaurant and baby crying in a nearby table. (eating at International house of Pancake ) were an asian family.|||It doesn't matter what ethnicity you are, but if someone told me to control my child, chances are, I'm not doing a good job, so I'd try my best to do so. It's nothing to get disrespectful about. I'd just say to the people, "Sorry about that. Kids, keep it down, okay? Thank you!" Then, I'd smile at the people that told me to control them, depending on the tone they had.|||if your kids outta hand, control them.if you felt they picked you out for no reason tell them to control their mouth|||First, I would die of embarrassment - because the last thing I'd ever want is for someone to think my kids were badly behaved. Then I'd apologize for allowing my kids to disturb their meal. And then I'd make absolutely sure that my kids were being quiet and well behaved.

But none of this would ever happen, because I don't let my kids get too loud or wild in public.|||How embarrassing for you. The complaint may have to do with the number of kids acting inappropriately. Or maybe their age.
Personally, if a baby is crying, I'm pretty sympathetic. However, if it's kids old enough to have been trained to be in public, it can be very annoying if they're acting like wild animals just because they "can".
Think about it....if you take them out, remember you're not the only ones there. For the rest of us, and for their future associations, train them to be respectful of others.|||tell them 2 mind their bizniz... who cares their babies their gonna be loud..they gonna want to play.. jus keep it dwn 2 a minimum but no one should be tellin u what to do with your kids|||if they were being unbearable i might have taken it but if it was just coz they felt like telling me i'd be like pick a different place to eat at coz if you haven't noticed there are more children around|||You should have told them that you didn't have any kids. Kids are baby goats.

    =)|||its not embarasing.
i mean who cares what they think?
if your kids were just having fun and doing nothing out of control then you're fine.|||I wouldn't have had to say anything to YOU, I would've said something to the manager and moved away from your family.
If you cannot control your children I'd just feel sorry for you... but YOU don't need to ruin my family's time at IHOP.
I hope you went home and thought long & hard about what that person said to you: where there's smoke there's usually fire. Don't take your children out if they don't know how to behave.|||Punch them.

No one tells me how to control my child.

I was wondering if International House is made up of predominately international students and domestic students learning a foreign language or if the residents are the same as O'Rorke and Grafton Halls... Thank you|||Apparently there's definitely more of an international flavour in the International House than at O'Rorke or Grafton. I looked in the Accomodation Guide as I'm thinking of living in a Hall too but it's rather generic- just says "International House is home to 172 students from all over New Zealand and from many overseas countries". Maybe you could check out the website for more details although all I found was stuff on fees and facilities. http://www.auckland.ac.nz/uoa/for/prospe鈥?/a>
However one would assume that the majority of students are international students, right? I'd think they would have more priority, along with students learning languages.
Dunno if that actually helped...I have a friend who lives there currently and she likes it, so all the best!

Suppose I were to run into an IHOP (International house of pancakes) and stand on a table and poop on it and then run out.

what would be the likely charges and jail sentences for this?
This is a serious question, my friend is offering me $1,000 to do it, is it worth it?|||Not worth it. The lawyer who would be defending you for a thing like this is going to get a lot more than $1000 from you. Figure something else out.|||You're looking at a maximum penalty of six months to a year in jail.

You'd probably get a lot less if it was your first offense and you were appropriately remorseful.

Probably not worth $1000, you might get fined that much, not to mention lawyer's fees and everything else.

You do know the guy who paid you could be convicted of conspiracy, right?

  • Hi, I'm italian and in october I'll study english in London with another girl for 2 mounth. We need two single rooms in a student house, a residence or in a flath share...Can you help me to find some students house? We see the Nido, but it's soo expensive!!!!
I have another question..Somebody know these schools, Bloomsbury International and International House of London?

I hope you understand my english, Thank you|||There are so many schools offering English classes to foreign students, some of them are no good at all; I even knew one that was just a front for other less legal activities. Get one which is approved by the British Council to be on the safe side. The British Council has offices in most big cities, I am sure you can find one in Italy.
About accommodation, London is one of the most expensive cities in the world. Even a bad room in a student house in a bad part of London will cost you a fair bit.
There is a newspaper called Loot which list rooms to rent, it is the paper most people in London use to find somewhere to live. Maybe the British Council or the embassy can advise you about that as well. London can be a dangerous place for a young girl. You need a safe base at the end of the day.
Good luck|||Try gumtree.com as this is a good place to get in touch with other students who are also looking. Don't worry about the area of London as the transport system is good and you can travel to Bloomsbury from anywhere in London.|||Try

In view of the recent proposed buy out by International House of Pancakes, there is uncertainty about the direction of the Applebee's chain, it's management, the likihood of the aquisition going through and focus on future growth opportunities of both Applebee's and the IHOP operations.|||Applebee's is sucking wind. The casual restaurant market in the US is very competitive. Too many restaurants offering the same bland food and "experience". What is the real difference between Applebee's, TGIFridays, Ruby Tuesday, etc.

With that being said IHOP is eyeing Abblebee's real estate. They have some good locations. Look for IHOP to exploit Applebee's real estate holdings and shut down a lot of locations.|||Applebee's doesn't have much of a choice but to accept a buyout. They've been thumped in the marketplace by a slowing economy affecting discretionary spending. IOW, families don't have as much money to spend of dining out, and they're not doing it at Applebee's as much. Applebee's doesn't have the money to go off and try a new idea right now. They've shut down a number of restaurants, in fact.

That said, IHOP's plan for Applebee's is structural: convert the owned and operated restaurants into franchises, reducing their exposure to real estate valuation fluctuations. The downside to this approach is the risk involved in allowing franchisees leeway in setting quality standards for the brand and product.

Future growth ops for IHOP will come through expansion of franchise licensing, sorta similar to what we see for McDonalds and such.|||contact nitron circle of experts
