What job pays a decent amount and gives a person the freedom to work from anywhere?

I see all these people on International House Hunters moving to the Caribbean and continuing their work in the states from their homes the new country...how are they doing that?!?
I'm willing to get whatever training, degrees, etc... that I need to get the job that allows me to do something like that, but I need to know what to do/what steps I need to take!

I live in the US right now (which I know makes it harder than if I were in the UK or something), but would like to live in Spain. (but it doesn' t have to be Spain...we also like Costa Rica, and some parts of Mexico) Spain is just at the top of the list.

I would also be happy living between countries...being in the other country for a percentage of the year, but maintaining residence here in the states.
Even a job that allows me the freedom (and a bit of an income) to travel for a few months out of the year at all....
Anyone know how to do it?|||You could open or buy a bar/restaurant that is only open seasonally. That way you are in the location of your choice during the time that everyone wants to be there. This might take a greater time investment up front, especially learning the trade but will become more fun over time.
