How does the International House of Prayer use the name IHOP??? Wouldn't the International House of Pancakes sue them for the name IHOP???|||You can't patent a trademark acronym. You can patent a name, but just because the letters that make up the first letters of a name match up with those of another organization, unless you are a competing business you can't file a suit for patent violation with an acronym.|||IHOP could say that the International House of Prayer was
trying to deliberately mislead by using such a similar name. At which time the International House of Prayer would claim IHOP was anti-Christian and they would lose a lot of business.
It would be thrown out of court anyways. The acronym is not trademarked, only the name.
The International House of Prayer claims that the I H O P stands for Intercession, Holiness, Offering and Prophecy. What it really stands for is the fact that they wanted people who were online wishing to reach the website of the IHOP restaurant to unintentionally go to their website instead. Fundamentalist Christian writers have stooped to similar tactics, giving their books a title that they hoped people would mistakenly purchase when they meant to get the more popular title (see Dawkins Delusion instead of Dawkins' God Delusion).

I think it is very telling how dishonest people can be when they claim to be following "the truth".|||Actually, they should. I like eating at IHOP. I wouldn't want to get a taste for a BLT and accidentally show up at a place where a prayer revival is taking place.|||Actually it would be a good idea if both of them did some fusion :D

Amen, Pancakes!|||Theyre both okay, good eatin when you show up at a baptism yummy!|||omg you should so tell them that
