Rev. Lou Engle thinks so:

"Prayer and preaching the gospel are the church's primary calling, he said. "But to say don't get involved in those high places [of government] is actually allowing our archenemy Satan to put his own people in those high places, where spiritual powers can actually control societies and release laws that actually legalize systemic evil," Engle added"

and the following Christian leaders have endorsed his "TheCall" events:

"The prayer event has been endorsed by a cross-section of Christian leaders from former Arizona Gov. Mike Huckabee to Campus Crusade for Christ co-founder Vonette Bright, International House of Prayer founder Mike Bickle, Family Research Council President Tony Perkins and Liberty Counsel founder Mathew Staver."

http://www.charismamag.com/index.php/new鈥?/a>|||you know who else was 'far right'?|||This is just watered down fanaticism. As much as they use the Middle East as an example of what is wrong with Islam, they fail to realise those countries are in that state because of the intermingling of politics and religion. They already want to sacrifice certain freedoms for 'biblical laws'. Don't they see the irony?|||I can't find any record of the first century church getting involved in politics or trying to influence government in any way. And Jesus' sole involvement was to tell people to pay their taxes (Render unto Caesar...).

So I would have to conclude that Engle and his followers have no concept of what Christianity is supposed to be about. God's Kingdom is not of this world...|||Sounds like he would have gotten along with Hitler...it's FACT that Hitler used Christians to gain support on his way to Germany's top of the govt.
Edit: JKG-So, let me guess...they're not 'real' Christians, huh? BTW, Bush was definitely irresponsible with money and his financial adviser (after 6 YEARS said Bush finally was starting to understand what the word 'budget' meant, but it sounds to me like you posted two examples of his behaving rationally)|||Opions are like a-- holes everyone has one, The best answer I can think of is to find out for yourself, research what you need to know because, it is important for you to know the path you wish to follow and the one you believe is right.|||You said you looked into Paganism and Buddhism, so whats stopping you from being something better than a bible thumper? Nothing. The door is open, and i hope you enter it someday.

Youre too nice for christianity, and I hope you deconvert.|||I think its time to re-examine what you believe, and look at your fellow believers.

Do you want to be like them, or become something better? The time for change is now, it might be a time for a change in your spiritual path too.|||Not all Christians are that concerned with US politics. It may be the same with God. Or Satan, who would find a lot more interesting countries to go to if he existed.|||http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E2s14T6x5鈥?/a>|||You're kidding, right?|||Not at all, your primary weapon is prayer, to the contrary most "Chritians" have laid down prayer to pursue political means. It's because people don't tarry with God or even know how to pray. All people today want to be saved from is responsibility, poverty, hardship, discomfort... what we call Christianity is not Christianity. It's patriotic idolatry. For those thinking that voting conservative, even voting at all the way the system is manipulated today, I offer these truths;

President George W. Bush and the Republican-majority Congress Increased Title X to record $288.3 million in FY 2005 on 12/8/04. Title X is one of two major federal government funding sources for Planned Parenthood Federation of America, the nation's largest chain of abortion centers (murdering over 244,000 unborn human beings per year by surgical abortion alone).

BUSH 'AGAIN' VOICES SUPPORT FOR EQUIVALENT TO HOMOSEXUAL MARRIAGE 10/27/04
I don't think we should deny people rights to a civil union, a legal arrangement, if that's what a state chooses to do," the president stated. "[S]tates ought to be able to have the right to pass ... laws that enable people to, you know, be able to have rights, like others."

Go to bushrevealed.com for more, this is not a biased slanderous site, it's all resourced, look it up yourself. Don't let these wolves in sheeps clothing push you to believe that you have to stick a quarter in their slot and play their game to honor and do the work of the Lord. May you trust God alone to guide you my friend.
