So i have scholarships that are asking for my parent's tax forms. However, im a little concerned because my mom's tax forms have our social security numbers on it. One of the scholarships that are asking for copies of the 1040 forms is the mcdonald's scholarship. Should i cross out the social security numbers, or what? Thanks for all the answers!|||If you do so you should blank out all but the last four numbers. That way they can verify that these are really your parents.|||I wouldn't worry about the McD scholarship committee using the information improperly. Sometimes you just have to trust people. If they did anything wrong, you would be RICH from the settlement.

If you were applying for a small local scholarship, it might be wise to mark out the numbers but those don't usually require tax returns.|||Dont fret it. Just give them the info. They are not going to use her ss# for anything.
