I am fundraising to study for a semester in Germany, through the well-known nonprofit organization AFS. I've checked on a few websites like McDonald's, and they make donations to corporations but not individuals. Does anybody know of companies that make charitable donations to individuals, or hold scholarship/essay contests? Thanks so much. :)|||Well, in the first place, most German programs sponsor semesters abroad. They will not pay for everything, but will help you pay for a portion of your tuition and expenses.

Contact German companies like Siemens. Many of them offer work study programs and internships which will cover your travel expenses, housing, vehicle costs, and most of your educational expenses.

You can try to set up a fundraising page on pay it forward.org, or another charitable web site, but donations are mostly reserved for people with serious financial or medical need.

Beyond that, you can apply for small, private scholarships from websites like scholarships.com. There will be few available. You will be expected to pay the majority of your costs on your own.

Hoffentlich hilft das Ihnen.
