OK, I am Okie born & raised. Went to college with a kid in tow, so I qualified for "family housing". It was a 2 bedroom apartment ALL BILLS PAID for 250.00 a month. I was told I qualified and was put on a waiting list. After 9 months, I was called, and since I lived at home I wasn't in the middle of a lease and could move in. Once I got there, I noticed that in the 250 unit complex, there was only 3 (including mine) families that were "American". Most residents were Asian, then African (NOT black Americans), then Middle Eastern. The parking lot was FULL of Beamers, Mercedes and Camrys.

I was SICK!!! These people come here on a reduced tuition and or scholarship, breed, have an "anchor baby" and drive luxury cars while poor middle and lower class 2+generation Americans have to work at the Union and McDonalds, never see their kids and pay full tuition???

Anyone else think we NEED reform???|||We do need reform! The Birthright Citizenship Act of 2007, by Rep. Nathan Deal (R-GA), would amend the Immigration and Nationality Act to eliminate birthright citizenship.
Our current policy results in over 300,000 additional citizens from anchor babies each year. The demographic impact is far greater because their families stay and bring in additional relatives. Anchor babies are eligible to sponsor their illegal alien parents and other relatives when they turn 21. Moreover, taxpayers pick up the tab for the medical costs and subsequent welfare outlays because of the child's citizenship status.

The 14th Amendment, passed to guarantee the citizenship of freed slaves, grants citizenship to anyone born here and "subject to the jurisdiction" of the United States. HR 1940 acknowledges the right of birthright citizenship established by the 14th amendment to the Constitution, but says a person born in the United States is considered "subject to the jurisdiction" of the United States only if one of the parents is a citizen, an alien lawfully admitted for permanent, or an alien performing active service in the armed forces.

We have been sold down the river.|||At least Oklahoma and Arizona is doing something about it.|||Something needs to be done I will agree...many abolishing the "anchor baby" as an automatic citizen would help..
