I was diagnosed with depression years ago (like when I was 11)....I lived for many years in what for me was survival mode. I didn't think about what I wanted to do with my life. I don't know my dislikes...or likes. I work as a nurse but I don't really like it. I just went to nursing school because it was better than working at McDonald's. I feel like if I spend my life working at the place I work at now, I'll go crazy. Everyone tells me what a great job I have...blah blah blah. Plus I applied to go back to school thru a scholarship in work. I don't really want to be an RN but it's better than what I'm doing now. I'm almost hoping I don't get the scholarship because I don't really want to go back. I feel like that's how I make my choices and it sucks. I don't really have any dreams....wow this is sad. I like animals and I like to travel but what do you do with that??? Plus I messed things up for myself...food and spending money mad me feel happier so now I'm fat and broke|||Sounds to me like you both need a break and a change of scene!
Start saving now, really save a lot for 6-12 months. (It won't be so hard to stay where you are if you know it's temporary and you have a goal.) When you have saved enough, I suggest you get a secondhand camper or a car and tent and take off. Camping is cheap and you can eat cheap too, if you look for local markets, roadside stands and discount grocery stores. Just head off into the blue and wander as it suits you. Or choose a destination you've always wanted to see. Plan to be away for 6 months if you can. You can get temporary work while traveling if you need to. You can learn so much about yourselves and see so many new things this way.
Whatever you do, best of luck to you both.|||Train to Get a job being a tour guide for an animal sanctuary's, in Africa, the Amazon, Galapagos islands or travel the world as a specialist in animal behavior or medicine.
Then you'll be working with animals
Traveling
and
getting skinny cause your moving around alot
and you can use your "Nursing skills" and aptitude
Or you could Teach what you learn

Either way if your doing something you "love" and you feel passionate about you'll be less depressed and the $$ will follow

A link to start looking :
